gaining weight, trying to be healthier

Recommended Posts

Being extra busy lately made me realize I need to take better care of my body so that I feel stronger, don't get tired so easily, etc. Since i'm 5'6, light-boned and weigh only about 110lbs (very close to being underweight), one of the things I'm trying to do is to eat more regularly/nutritiously/frequently, with the goal of gaining some weight and just having more energy. I also try to drink lots (unfortunately mostly juice&water, i don't like plain water). In terms of exercise, I don't work out, but I get 5 hours of dance classes a week + go out dancing at least one night a week.

I hope all this will work - I'm too light and weak these days. I also look better when I'm fuller - perhaps i'll even get big enough to wear heels and not look like a skinny ruler!

Here's my worry though: i'm afraid all the weight i'll gain will go into my hips, which are the heavier part of my body as it is. How can I make the new weight distribute more evenly? As soon my hips start popping out, I know I'll dislike it and will lose any motivation to keep gaining weight...

Questions: any criticisms, suggestions, tips, etc?

thanks,

I'm in the same boat you are only I'm a skinny ruler of a guy.(27 yrs old)

I've heard that you can't lose or gain weight in certain areas. Weight gain is

never really properly distributed...So I'm trying to figure out the right way to

go about this as well. Maybe working out with weights is needed. Small weights

for a woman.

Anyway, just wanted to say "I Hear Ya!!" cuz i'm having the same dilema. I want to

feel better and stronger and healthier.
