The happy marriage thread

Recommended Posts

In group therapy they were all telling me that I need to change the negative lens I view the world through so I thought this would be a good thread.

I know I go through my periods of doubting the future of our relationship but I must say it is great to finally have a healthy and drama free relationship with a woman. I am truly lucky.

My time with my H is my peace and reward at the end of a long day. I look forward to it all day long! (counting the minutes.....:))

Real group therapy, Wog? Or is that a euphemism for LS? :p

my husband will be away for the next wilen training exercises. I probably won't hear from him for the next few weeks:(... so I'll send him an email every night after my kids are asleep that he can read when he gets back...it's not the same as him being here, but at least I can still "talk ' to him ( there's no phone or internet out there... i feel bad for him as it's gotten colder outside and they'll be sleeping outdoors and eating ration packs:sick:)

It was our anniversary last week, and we went away ALONE together for the first time since our toddler was born (he stayed with my parents who he loves and he had a great time, too). It was fantastic. Three whole days of date, just reconnecting, being romantic. He rented a convertible and we drove around with the top down, not worried about babies in the back seat, got a little sunburned. We went wine-tasting, and hiking, and visiting art galleries. We went to a spa and had a couples mud bath, a first for both of us.

He's my best friend, there's nobody I'd rather have spent that time with...and the sex was great, we felt so relaxed and unhurried.

Recently I sent him some photos of myself. Not completely in my birthday suit mind you, but close enough. I've been working out a lot to P90x so I wanted to show off. He liked one of the pics so much he put it as the background on his smart phone.

My husband is also my best friend. He is my married man. There are good men in the world and I have one of them.

Stung - your anniversary celebration sounds divine.

Breezy Trousers

My husband just "adopted" his third Save the Children kid .... In the late 90's he was not permitted to answer the phone at night because every charity telemarketer knew his name, and DH was bankrupting us with his big heart.

This morning:

When I woke, I discovered I was spooning our cat and my husband was spooning me. We were an odd sight, I'm sure. :D

i like all the posts on here:)...

they all speak of the enduring kind of love that lasts...the kind you see in the "little things" of every day life (and the 'big things" of a special anniversary)

The little things are mostly all we have

Totally jealous of Stung's anniversary celebration! That sounds too awesome. One day..........

I hope you are finding the group (and the thread) helpful, Woggle.

Here's more happy marriage stuff...

I travel a lot for work and my husband always sneaks a card into my bag so that when I reach my destination, I find a little love note tucked away. This trip's card read, "I needed ya. I got ya. I'm keepin' ya. Love ya."

We both agree that our ginormous king sized bed is probably our favorite place on earth...which makes it that much harder to be away!

Our bed is my favorite place to spend time with my hubby too :) Reading, watching TV, talking, or whatever ;) I love weekend mornings when we can open the curtains and let the sun shine on the bed and just relax together.

We go away alone together quite a lot. Our next trip in to Vancouver for Grey Cup, Nov 24 to 28. 4 days of kid free debauchery :D:D

no marriage is perfect, and the key to a good marriage is remembering that! When it comes down to base, DH is a good man, and it shows through in the little things he does.

another way of thinking of your marriage is to understand that every day you stay with your partner, it's another day of saying "I chose you above everyone else. Maybe I can't put into words why, I just know it's you I want to spend my life with" ...

I'm missing my hubby tonight. The house isn't the same without him.

As some of you know, his father passed away several days ago. We were all devastated. The day of the funeral, despite the sadness, my husband made sure I was ok and thanked me for my support.

I just love him so much and I don't know what I've done to be blessed with such an amazing man.

I hope that I am the wife he deserves and that I'm doing a good job with being there for him right now.

i'm sorry to hear about your husband's dad, but glad that he hasd you to support him. he's a lucky guy to have you.

my husband is away to, but for much less sad a reason...imiss him when he is away, and find it very hard to fall asleep when he's not here with me.

hope your husband comes home soon
