Getting rid of artificial feelings

I've been chatting with this girl over IM for over one year, we've are now as close as you can be to each other without actually knowing each other. Which is an interesting dilema.

 

I have traditionally not been a fan of "meeting" people over the internet, I consider it to be a fairly dishonest way of getting to know people. And I promised myself to not expect anything whatsoever out of an internet relationship.

 

With that said I recently came to the realization that I have feelings for this female...let me clarify. I think I have feelings for a girl I never meet, feelings that are based on IM-conversations,phone-calls and wishful thinking, ie feelings that I know aren't founded in any "real" interactions.

 

The problem is that the knowledge of this does not change the way I feel. How do you get over a girl you never meet?

 

I am sorry for forcing to read through my incoherent rambling about my pathetic "love-life" and I am thankful for whatever replies I get.

Don't worry about getting over her. You sound a bit ridiculous. Just go meet her and then everything you just said is over.

The only thing i have to add to this to-the-point comment: you fell in love with her personality, so you actually have a bonus. Be cautious when you meet her & look for differences between the "digital" and actual girl, but give it a damn go if you like who she is!
