Snarks025
I am going out on a third date with a woman I really like who I met on match.com. So far we have just been out to dinner, but I have a great date planned for this Saturday. On our last date, we were exchanging embarrassing family stories and I told her that on Christmas my family wears matching Christmas pajamas. We had a good laugh about it, and I was thinking about buying her an inexpensive pair of Christmas pajamas as a joke. I know it's not a great idea to start buying gifts right off the bat, as it could set a bad precedence. But, its about $20 and I think it could be something to show her that I am different than most guys. Good idea, or should I hold off and see how things go?
Art_Critic
IMO it is too much.. for 2 reasons. PJ's are more personal of a purchase that 3 dates allows.. and it would also send the message that you are already looking for a commitment.. a bit too early.. Why not just give her some flowers instead ?

Well, I could be wrong (and it totally depends on how she feels about you) but that may be seen as "moving too fast". Saying as it's a family tradition, and you're giving her something that may seem like you're inviting her into that tradition, it might be perceived as a "join the family!" kinda thing. That's just my opinion though. Like I said, it depends on how well things are going.
dasein
Agree with others, a little too fast. That would be something good for next year.
