OnyxSnowfall
I've never appreciated flowers early on..... other females might though.
chelle21689
A little bit too much for me...
cerridwen
Giving them on first date's a little much. I'd wait if I were you.
rie39
I'd feel the guy is trying a little too hard, further into dating is a better time
Pierre
Most modern woman are not romantic anymore. So I would wait a bit. If the woman is old fashion and not a dating veteran it might work. If the woman dates a lot she may think you have no experience with women. She may be expecting to be treated with less care.
sunshine103
Why give me flowers on the first date? How about if I have no interest in you? You should wait.
Pierre
Go ahead and bring her a flower when you meet with her. If she is turned off so be it. Any woman that is turned off by that has issues.

blueskyday
Sure, I think it's a sweet gesture. Just don't give them to her at a restaurant or in public. That can be embarrassing. And don't go over the top. A few flowers is better than a dozen red roses. (You can have that kind of big arrangement delivered to her work place after you are dating for a few weeks.) So, go buy a small bouquet. Ring her doorbell. When she answers, pull the bouquet out from behind your back, smile and present the flowers to her. Maybe include her favorite flowers, if you know what they are. I once had a guy ask me in a conversation what my favorite flower was. He worked it into the conversation in a natural way so I didn't even take note of it. Later, he showed up to our date with a bunch of daisies! Awww Botom line, I think it's nice, but I'm an old school romantic. Some other women might not like it, but if you are a romantic type you might want to find another romantic type. Art_Critic
I've done it.. nothing wrong with being romantic on a first date... Had nothing but success with being romantic while I was dating and always made a habit of trying to court and romance a woman I was interested in.. If it is done right.. has the right scale and not over the top then how can it be wrong ? I will say though that gauging your date and how she would respond to it is pretty important as not every woman wants flowers.. but all of them want to feel special.. so those women that might not like flowers very well might like a nice box of Godiva.. smallish of course.. sunshine103
It's a first date, Pierre! I don't know if I'm going to like the person or not, when it is the first time seeing you in person. It's a first date. I prefer no flowers and lets just get to know each other. Makes me feel you are trying to hard.

When I date someone I already know I like her quite a bit. Not a fan of blind dates.
Emilia
Question for girls, guys need not respond. Is it OK to give you flowers on first date? Only had that from someone I was friends with before we started dating. It's a sweet thing to do. I know a lot of men feel silly doing something like this
Author D86
If she is turned off so be it. Any woman that is turned off by that has issues. I personally agree with this. What kind of a girl not like flowers? And why would it be such a big deal, I'm just trying to be romantic and impress you and its just $15 flowers... its not like I'm giving you a diamond necklace on the first date lol
Author D86
This stupid bitch with cold sores is right. What kind of woman does not like flowers? it is a known fact that ALL women love flowers no matter the time or day or reason. In fact, when you give a woman flower, her stale vagina gets a second life and perks up a bit. You are a troll and you have an IQ of a squirrel. I started this thread to ask whether or not I should give flowers to a girl on first date you moron. Why you so mad anyway? Is it because no girl will pay any attention to you because you look like chewbacca from star wars?
Ross MwcFan
Sorry but I'm a guy and I'm going to respond. It's waaaaaay too over the top, don't do it.

Cheesy / Corny. And ultimately... yes, over the top for a first date. It's just all around awkward. Really.
anne1707
I like the idea. But maybe not roses - too formal and can be a bit cliched (especially at Valentines ). Go for something simpler and more relaxed - freesias, daisies, and gerberas come to mind
Ross MwcFan
Sorry but it's to damn picky when bringing flowers on a first date is "coming on too strong or whatever. I'd do it.... It's nice and shouldn't announce "OMG you're being too foward, wait until later, it'll make you look pushy if yo udo it now" Bring her flowers, man...perhaps yellow Roses. Maybe some jewelry too. Ross MwcFan
I actually thought it would be something you would do, Ross(bring flowers) But oh no...bringing flowers on a first date makes ya look like a douche I guess:rolleyes: Lol, you're funny!
Ross MwcFan
Basicaly...WTH hell is wrong with bringing a small gift or flowers to a first date? OH MEE GOD! he is trying to bribe sex from a first date by giving me a gift!" Oh pffftttttt It's not that, it just looks too forward, silly, and would maybe creep her out. OnyxSnowfall
What-evs, I just don't personally like it. It's unattractive to me. I've been on walks with males I haven't known well who've randomly picked me flowers... and I found that kind of endearing ----------- but never the ones that came with nosegays or large bouquets Edited November 18, 2011 by OnyxSnowfall
Ross MwcFan
Yes, only in today's FB addicted, red-flag flying, overly picky world. Nah, it still would've looked bad in the 80's. I've always been one of your biggest supporters on lS.org, Ross. I'm Eric the one who gets banned all the time...it's rare when I actually feel for someone and their situation and you are one that I have always supported here without lashing at you. I feel some of your situations....and I am surprised you wouldn't bring flowers...you seem to be more classy than most men. Oh well..it's the net...we can't see everything. Hey man, I didn't realise you were Eric. I guess I'm not what you would class as being classy, but to be honest I wouldn't want it any other way, as 'classy' has never appealed to me.
