Wel well well I was feeling a little ticked so I decide to stop by and give me my two cents worth.

I feel as if 'sex' is overrated. I myself am a virgin. I simply feel that nowadays people abuse it in relationships. I mean just watch any of these crappy dating shows i.e., elimidate, 5th wheel, blind date. These people are so horny.

It is no wonder that they are single because they mess around with the wrong people.

Which brings me to a theory.

It is no secret that the majority of men are animalistic when it comes to sex. But can you blame them?

Men are horny to begin with.It makes it no easier when women dress the way they do. Women play their mind games to tease men. Men become so animalstic that they will do anything for sex.

Women go with it and end up getting hurt the then become real skeptical about good men .

They then exclude nice suitors because they feel that they are being fake...

well it was a theory of mine. Like I said I was ticked so maybe I am not being fair....

I would guess there's a correlation.

Late night trash television is not a good population sample.

I mean no offense to you personally, but you have no idea how tiring it is to listen to constant theories that animalize our sexual nature. Men and women are both biologically wired to want sex. Anything else is a product of society. Unlike most animals, humans have the volition to choose how those 'animal insticts' manifest themselves. While it's true that men and women have different societal obligations in terms of how they express themselves sexually, in the end, it's all personal choice.

Yeah, sometimes it bothers me when beer commercials paint men as sex-crazed animals, and I see women dressed like like hookers ( in concession, the type of "bother" differs :p ). However, it bothers me even more to see people take limited exposures to stereotypes, and use that to base the sum of their knowledge about human sexuality. Choices are influenced, yes, but in the end, we all make our own. Freud doesn't make them, Darwin doesn't make them, and Jesus doesn't make them--we're our own persons.

I am not a virgin, and even when my husband and I had a healthy sex life, I felt like sex was overrated. There is sooooo much more!

Prime Time shows have devalued sex to something far less meaningful then it used to be. Instead of a kiss good night, now it a f**k goodnight.

Human, like any other mammal, have instincts for sex for procreation. Men are still considered the pursuer, its just that in today's society women don't always run and sometimes don't even bother to tease a pursuit from a man, they just approach. Women know what will turn a man on and they use it. Clothing, body movements, scents, attitude, etc. If they use these things to attract a man and then that man leaves after he has been 'satisfied' the women get hurt and don't understand why, and they create their own 'baggage' and go on to repeat the same patterns of behavior because they don't understand what they did in the first place. Sex plays a major role in this. If the man doesn't 'get' sex after a while, he will probably leave to find it elsewhere. In today's society women will do the same thing. It was much easier when sex was saved for after marriage--or a commitment. You had to learn about people first and not give in to temptations of the flesh. The act of sex is far to casual and the emotional connotations are way behind what the logical mind is saying. Its no wonder there is so much angst over relationships and sex.

I understand what you are saying Dyer, and you have a point. But so does AfriendAllie.
