One week!

Its been exactly one week since my ex, whom i thought i would marry, decided to break it off via online communication.

Not sure how im coping, still very low on energy and not focused on anything i do. im not doing NC very well, she was such a big part of my life and it just seems impossible to remove her completely.

Does anyone know anything specific that may help with situations like this? A certain book to read, perhaps... or just browse more of LS? I've heard rebound relationships would be disastrous so im steering clear of that but it does seem it would take my mind off this... at least for a while.

Yes, there is a book that helped me a lot in coping, but last time I mentioned it, I got a message that I'm breaking LS rules, eventhough the book is free online on publisher's website, just look my last posts and you will find it.

Hi Sand Panda..

I'm exactly one week out too. It's been 2 days N/c as i also can't remove him from my life completely... I txted him, it was silly.

I have been reading lot's here.. sometimes it makes me feel better, sometimes worse.

I kinda feel that hard core N/C is almost a distraction in itself. It's not like he was awful and mean to me, so I have no reason to hate him... I know N/C is best for my own healing... Seeing and knowing him will only make me want him more.

F/B is a killer. My ex and I put each other on restricted profiles which helped. I know i would keep checking his page..etc.. but i didn't want to "unfriend" him. It's tough.

I feel the same. I want a distraction. I know a rebound would be foolish... but i really want to get back on the dating horse. Why wallow and wait for someone who doesn't want me?

Let's help each other. I find it much easier to be objective when it's someone elses story... :)

What has been your issue with N/C.. by that I mean.. why can't you?

I looked.. but I can't find a book mentioned in your posts. Can you give us a clue on how to find it without a link perhaps?

I would really like something to read on coping..

I just thought I'd share my $.02

I am over a year of NC, and your story sounds similar to mine. Thought you'd marry, childish cowardly dumped by somebody you thought you loved.

You've got a looooong road to recovery ahead of you, I am still not completely over my ex. This whole ordeal has taught me a lot about life, and has changed my perspective on a lot of things. Try to stay as busy as possible, get to the gym, meet new people and try new things, when your ex contacts you ignore and stay nc. Getting over somebody you loved isn't easy, but if you follow my advice your time to feeling 'normal' again will be greatly reduced.

I am going out on a limb and guessing that we are similar in age (87 part of your name) If I am right that means your still young and have a long life ahead of you. It's time to leave your ex in the past and move forward. It's not easy and I don't want to discourage you, but forget about your ex, they don't deserve our attention anymore. The future is yours without your ex.
