doesn't want a serious relationship.. or just with me?

I met this guy a month before college let out and I really like him and he really likes me, so he says.

 

We would hang out alot on the weekends, mostly late though as we both love to party and dance together at the bars. We haven't been intimate but we do "fool around"

 

Finally I asked him where this was going because school is about to end and I won't see him for another 4 months. He said that he didn't want a serious relationship over the summer because the last 2 summers he was burned blah blah blah but he cares about me alot and thinks i'm a amazing girl.. and who knows what will happen next year.

 

My question is I heard from somewhere that when someone doesnt' want a serious relationship with THAT person, then that's a line they'll use. So what do you all think? He said it's not me but there are some things that make me think other wise, like how we usually get together on the weekends and when he's drunk!

I would say he's using you as a party "friend". If he really cared for you, he would want to see you over the summer.

see, i thought so too. Then I realized that I live on the East Coast, and he is going to be in Oregon away as a camp counselor. But he is originally from the west coast so there is a long distance here, not just by a hour you know.

It could just be that he knows you two are going to be thousands of miles apart for the summer & given that you recently met he doesn't want to get too emotionally involved. It sounds like you'll be apart longer than you've been together once he leaves for Oregon.

 

Either way, if you're having a good time & enjoy his company why not keep the good times rolling?
