Meeks7
I been listening in different male-female friend conversations. I've noticed the best connections are the ones where there is a smooth flow, a natural rapport. Light-heartedness, maybe some playful teasing and bickering (but no harsh putdowns). Phrases like "I see" and "Ah" and "(Oh) Really?" don't do much to advance a conversation. These are boring "filler" statements a lot of people make. It's better to nod in silence, and either wait to see if they'll carry on the convo, or whether you have to raise a point based on what they just said (that goes beyond "Uh huh" or "Yeah?") Listen to some radio talk show host. The great ones can connect with any caller, and you almost never hear them respond to a point with "Oh really?" What are some so-so or bad phrases more guys need to eliminate from their vocabulary? How about good phrases to adopt? Open for discussion.
