devil moth
I try so hard to be (at least minimual) model material.. I take a lot of pictures and the first thing I notice is my stomach... then my thighs... and never when I look at myself am I happy with what I see. I want to loose weight soooo badly. I stressed myself over working out. I ate only fruits, vegatables, and lean meats for a diet. I was doing reaaaaaaaally good and I gained 13 freaking pounds!!!!!!! 13!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought I was doing amazing with my workout and diet... I know I'm not pregnant! I've taken a zillion and 10 tests. but yeah... knowing that I gained weight when I was trying to prevent it has brought down my self esteem a lot. People say I've lost weight, but I really have lost it... the only thing that looks at all thinner about me is my face... I wanna look pretty.. I wanna feel great about my self. I want to be able to think that my boyfriend likes what he sees when I take pictures for him without doubting myself everytime I press send.... what do I do?
Philosoraptor
How much have you been working out? Muscle weighs much more than fat so that could explain some of the gain. I went on a diet awhile back and lost nearly 25 pounds. It comes down to calories more than anything. Drink lots of water as that helps keep the full feeling and keep an eye on how many calories you are taking in. Having 500 less calories per day (food + workout calories lost) equals about one pound lost per week. After losing my weight I put probably 20 of it back on as I started getting depressed and lazy. Luckily for me I got a nice trip through the heartbreak diet and not eating for days really helped me drop down below my ideal weight. I am now back to normal, eating, active, and at my ideal. But it really comes down to me monitoring my weight and having a good idea about how many calories I am putting into my body.
Els
Something someone here said before in response to my worried thread about my scarred thighs has stuck with me over the years - You will always, always find something 'wrong' about your body. If you lose that 13 lbs, it will be something else. Until you learn to love and live with your flaws. That isn't to say that you necessarily shouldn't try to lose weight. What's your height and weight now? If you are genuinely overweight, you should, but otherwise you might think about learning to appreciate your own body instead. Models look like models because that is their job. Most of us are not paid to look good. We don't have professionals to make us up, dress us and photoshop our pictures. Don't compare yourself to one. silvermane187
Eat less, count your calories, drink only water, go to the gym.
Imageiko
If you were working hard you would be loosing weight. Unfortunately that's the truth. It's by no means easy. Be satisfied with the amount of effort you put in not the results. I have a feeling if you honestly look at yourself and how much effort you are putting into exercise and diet you'd realize you aren't working hard enough.
DearAbby
You have to remember some fruits are better then others. For example, Pineapple is full of sugar!! Bananas are real Carby. The types of fruit you should eat are blueberries, apples, watermelon and grapes, and not in large quantities. You should be eating plain greek yogurt, eggs, celery, salads, lots of protein: chicken, tuna, low fat meats. The plan is to eat six small meals a day that are high in protein, lower in carbs. Do not eat bread, pasta, potatoes, etc. Or, if you do very small quantities. And most important - you need to be exercising 30 minutes to an hour a day. If you truly want to lose weight, you need to exercise.
