Author betterdeal
I remember a frenemy mentioning this waaaaaay back in the early 90s and was reminded of it when I saw another one of those is-there-a-god bun fight threads. I like the idea that the dualist model is the problem. Even without the god argument, where do consciousness, thoughts, urges, feelings fit into the physical world? If matter is mind viewed from the outside and mind is matter view from the inside, it all fits together. It does my nut in tho.
PelicanPete
I only watched the first 10 minutes, but basically I think he's found a very broad way of describing everything in the universe which he calls information. "The probability of something to happen". We don't know everything in the universe, and there is are things that are just completely random that happen for no reason, because if we understood everything we would be able to predict the future. We don't know everything therefore this is a possible theory. Information in a sense explains and creates itself because of our thought processes as human beings. This is nothing really new. All he did was revitalize 2500 year old ideas. Most of his responses were 90% guff consisting of complicated words and bs which makes it hard to understand. He never tackled any of the heavy hitters like free will, belief, faith, or intuition, just said "I'm a simple minded physicist lolz".
