quietGuy13
I have knee problems etc. can't run can't walk much sometimes. I've been trying to do small tiny jumps kinda like boxing but i dont really jump off the ground.. just do it with my body.. and i do light punching because i have shoulder and chest tears so i can't do it fast. So i've been doing that and Jumping jacks(but without jumping off the ground) and then small 5 pound weights in each hand. I do that for about 30 minutes but i notice i dont sweat because i can't do it fast and constant. When i was healthy i would sweat alot and i would feel i got a good workout. Now, i feel like i didn't do much. Even if i don't sweat, am i still getting a good workout even if what i do is light?
FitChick
Sweating doesn't mean anything. You should find DVDs for endurance workouts which are low impact. You use light weights and lots of repetition without injuring your joints. You can also do bodyweight exercises without weights. Strengthening the muscles of your thighs will stabilize your knees. What type of disease do you have?
StandingO
Good question and I can relate. Be careful with working out at home without the right program. I used to only work out at home too. I Never had the proper training or guidance. I became upper body strong and developed knee issues due neglected weaker thighs (relatively). I suggest seeing a professional trainer as your injuries are quite extensive.
