Hey guys, breakup thread here:

A lot of you helped me greatly and for that I am thankful. If you can't be bothered to read all of the story I'll summarise.. I was with a girl for a year and about 3-4 months.. It was my first serious relationship (I am 18, she is nearly 20) and it was one of the greatest experiences I've ever had. We loved each other and had a fairly mature relationship (I have been living independently since I was 16) and I became part of her family. Basically I finished school this year and she finished in 2010 and took a year off and we had our relationship. We broke up because she didn't believe our relationship would be viable in the future as she was moving away to study further. Now I know you're thinking she probably just wanted to be single to get out there with other men but let me assure you, she had never been with anyone before me and was a hair away from calling the whole thing off before it started and stressed to me that she wanted a clear head to concentrate on her studies and not have to worry about our relationship.

Anyway if you want greater insight check the thread out ha.

We broke up November 20th, officially, however I think the relationship ended about a month before that but we just kept at it. I have since relocated to a new city about 4500km away to study and work (I've been here 12 days now) so far I have met a few people and made friends with some people across the road and I start work in a week which is also good.

I think I'm coping well however I have been having trouble (despite the fact I am in a completely new environment..) with memories and things that remind me of her.. shes still always in my mind and although I have accepted the fact our relationship is over, the pain is still in there somewhere.

Anyway thats me a month on, thanks for reading guys.

~Nic
