"Letting Go"

Recommended Posts

Yes, there are avenues open to her, dependent upon jurisdiction and circumstances. I had to go to court twice to get appropriate orders, mainly because once one is or can be deemed to be incompetent, legal steps are required to address certain issues. My only exposure, according to my lawyer, would have been criminal prosecution for elder abuse over some of the financial moves we made. It didn't happen. Good lawyering helps. If she's interested in more information, my PM is open.

Interestingly, the same MC process which assisted in 'letting go' of the OW and my M also helped with 'letting go' of fears I had about the legal processes I went through and ultimately the death of my mother. It really helped.

I bet there is a lot of elder abuse in this area, and I bet the courts are flooded with it. Sometimes you have to do what you have to no matter what it can look like on the "outside". Like me, had I had the opportunity to have full care of my mother, I would have changed her meds (had I had the knowledge I have today) doctor approval or not. She needed constant monitoring IMO and I would have done that...as I am a doter by nature.

You rock CH!!!!!!!
