hurtingandconfused
Is is possible to get a six pack if you drink alcohol on the weekends? I do crunches and lift weights everday.
dudesomewhere
well...think of it scientifically...foo! let's say you require 2500 calories let's say you burn 2500 normally a day let's say on top of the 2500 calories for the day when you drink you consume 750 calories in alcoholic beverages but don't burn it off. Where does that leave you? On the scientific thing. Moderate consumption of wine is believed to reduce the amount of deep fat in the abdominal region(I forget the term used). Liquor affects it negatively, ie., adding to it Beer does not affect it...meaning it neither reduces nor adds. this is the fat that isn't seen...for example, if you lay down and your belly protrudes but you don't have all that much fat...that is the fat in question. On top of that consumption of alcoholic beverages interferes with your body's hydration ability and absorption of nutrients. ahhh...nerd alert!!! who me?
FitnessFreak
Dude, you should not be lifting weights and doing crunches every day. You should ideally be working small segments of your body throughout the week, or have a break of at least 2 days before weight-training the same area again. When you lift weights you are effectively tearing the muscle - you need to give it a chance to repair otherwise you won't be building muscle properly. Same with your crunches - or any kind of resistance workout. You need to give your body a BREAK to let it rebuild. I go to the gym 6 days a week, but 3 days are spent on cardio, and 3 on weights. Work smart, not hard. I drink alcohol on the weekends and throughout the week and have a six pack. I just don't binge drink, and I watch what i eat. Simple! Good luck. Hypatia
I'm a girl and don't really need a six pack, but I notice a lot more definition when I drink a lot of water. And then of course, pee it out. But seriously, it helps a lot with bloating. I also laugh a lot and I swear, I have abs and obliques of steel, no crunches.
Unlucky In Love
The key to getting a flat stomach is not eating late at night. Ideally, you should not eat after 6 p.m. This gives your body an opportunty to metabolize everything you have eaten during the day so that you have nothing in your stomach when you go to sleep. While you are counting sheep, you will be burning calories in your sleep. You will wake up with a flatter stomach in the morning. Try it for a few weeks, it works!
