spiderowl
Does anyone know of, or have any thoughts on, the ideas/research suggesting that depression could be caused by, or linked with, inflammation? I have been reading a little around this subject recently and it sounds worth investigating. I thought it might be interesting to start a thread to pull together people's thoughts on the subject and maybe links to research. It would be interesting to hear personal experiences and also to hear of anyone doing research in this field. Existing theories of what causes depression seem very limited and, apart from those propounding anti-depressant treatment, seem to blame the patient for negative thinking. I think new approaches and ideas are sorely needed and this looked interesting. Please avoid sales pitches for products/diets. I am looking for new approaches here and to find out what's happening in research re. the inflammation theory.
FitChick
Inflammation seems to be linked to lots of maladies. Life Extension has a great website with lots of medical research from all over the world. Yes, they also sell supplements based on the research, but you don't have to buy.
