SmileFace
"Failing to plan means planning to fail. What are your goals?" Every little thing, good or bad, counts. I am always setting goals for myself but have realized that it is every little goal that leads up to the big goals are the ones that count. I found sharing my goals helps keep myself on track, doesn't matter how minuscular it may be. It allows feedback and support so why not share your small goals with others? What small improvements do you want to make? One of my goals right now is to eat out more alone. I am not secure with myself enough to not feel judged or alone while sitting alone. It may seem like a small change but I think it can help my self esteem as a whole so I will be treating myself to sit down lunch this coming week.
betterdeal
Jolly good! I do this quite a lot these days and really enjoy it. There are no failures; just feedback. That is to say, if you don't do what you intended to do, you can learn from that experience: what stopped you? What else needed doing? What changed? That sort of thing. You're right that the little things lead to the big things because you get used to declaring an intention, estimating time / resources / desire / motivation for it, and doing it. The more practice you get at that process, the more natural it becomes. Like anything, success just takes practice
denise_xo
Nice thread. My main goals right now are getting into a routine of exercising at least twice a week, meditating five times a week, and generally working on improving my concentration. I've been making some progress over the past couple of weeks which I'm happy about, but I'm not where I want to be yet.

It keeps me leveled and moving ahead. Instead of dwelling on my mistakes.

I am planning to get at least four days of exercise in. ah going to start with the weekend since my work and school schedule are so hectic during the week. It isn't only for the physical aspect but it keeps me emotionally happy.

Feelin Frisky
... One of my goals right now is to eat out... One of my goals is to eat out again soon too. But seriously folks, one of my immediate goals is to finish a writing project that I have "false-started" a couple of times recently. I need to feel that I've actually "completed" something of my own and that it's "done" and publishing-ready (whether it gets published or not). Meanwhile I also need to on track at the gym. It's been two weeks now--one in D.C. and one patting myself on the back for being a serious NY Giants fan.
Author SmileFace
Decided to revisit this thread. I tend to start things and never finish so even revisiting this thread is a push at improvement. I have been working on my own goal, hope I can say that same for every one else. I even went to the local bar recently to watch the game and grab something to eat. It was good to watch the game and get out. I enjoyed myself and my own presence. My new goal is related to starting things and not finishing. I want to get around to building my credit so I went to my bank and got myself a pre-paid credit card and made the down payment. I have some bills that were put in my name by my mother when I was living with her. However she hasn't taken the intiative to get them paid and out of collections. I am going to the productive thing and just pay them off, they aren't more than a 1000 dollars collectively. Anyway getting my credit score and opening a credit card is my way of making an improvement.

Anyway getting my credit score and opening a credit card is my way of making an improvement. I'm glad you did revive it. I have been doing very well over the last two weeks. My brother gave me a link to several places for information about diet issues that finally make some sense to live by and I've completed almost two weeks of living this way. I don't know how much weight I've lost but I'm down almost two belt notches and have been working out at the gym faithfully. I notice that without the sugars, yeasts and glutens, that my feet don't hurt that way they had been previously where walking or jogging felt painful as hell after a short while on my feet. I'm doing all the right things I know to have worked for me in the past--making enough food for meals a couple of days in advance so that I'm not groping in the moment for what I "feel like" having to eat. My swimming and weight-lifting have become much less pain-producing and I actually feel like I want to dance I feel so good on my frame with the strengthened posture. As for finishing those writing projects I'm still undisciplined. But I gathering myself a bit more each day.
eleanorhurting
my goal is to pass my current clerkship (OBGYN) to finally lose the weight I have gained to become more organized with my time/things/money (I just realized I have no idea where my glasses are) And my long term big picture goal is to finally learn to be OK with myself without seeking validation from others
Kamille
Love this thread. My current 'priority' goal is to pay off the debt I accumulated when I was a student (you know, for 12 years), while saving money for a downpayment on a home. I've figure out a budget and a timeline. I spend much time on the internet, planning out budget meals while also looking at house listings. Congrats on those of you who are meeting the 2 week mark!

cerridwen
One small goal: Return all friends' phone calls, emails, and texts within 24 hours. Well, my success rate is only about 80% on this ^ but am ready to state my next intentions: I will keep sight of the fact that my bedrock is solid, though things on the surface are shifting and changing. That's Life afterall. Constant change. It's scary but I'll be okay. And I want to exercise less attachment and more fluidity. These are my intentions for the foreseeable future. betterdeal
It is not the strongest, biggest, nor the fastest, rather it is those that can adapt most that flourish. That is the basis of survival of the fittest: Best fit.
Author SmileFace
Recent update: I have paid off all the little accounts have I had over the years that have went to collections and have I*made it my duty to document all my payments( I suck(Ed) at organization ). Besides for a small medical bill and small student loan, which I will set up payment plans for within this week my credit score should be going up. Even if I have used my tax return and will have to wait a little longer with out living room furniture. I am beyond happy with this improvement. I hope keep at this little improvement and hope to improve on how I organize my finances. Hope everyone is doing well.

My success rate for returning emails has dropped to 50%. Way to backslide. Less attachment has definintely been accomplished but there's still some fluidity stuck in the pipes. How about an update, Smile? How goes things for you?

Author SmileFace
I am not sure if time management will fit in as a little improvement. I have been doing overtime at work on top of my school schedule. However I have been neglecting proper diet and physical activities. The money from overtime is good but I don't need it right now. My little improvement will to start back preparing my own meals and getting back in the gym. I won't start back lifting until this semester is over since I can't deal with DOMs right now but I will be the best cardio bunny I can!! Fluffy isn't a body type I want to have. I want to get down to 22-23% body fat. The good thing is that I haven't gained any scale weight just have lost my muscle. I didn't lose all this weight to go back going any where near fat. Hope everyone is well!
Kamille
I will be the best cardio bunny I can!! Fluffy isn't a body type I want to have. Subtle and chic. How Easter appropriate! :bunny: (The bunnies are delirious with joy). Good luck to our little cardio bunny. I'm still working with my goal, learning to spend better. But to be honest, I blew my budget on clothes this week (bought two pieces). I lost weight. It was really hard dressing for work when none of my pants fit me anymore. I took the money from my emergency fund... Not that this was an emergency. (So, I was a bad girl, but at least I didn't use credit). Off to surf house listings to keep me motivated. Author SmileFace
I didn't exactly flunk out of my spring semester but I received a B+ in two courses and an A in another. However I stopped attending one class so that is considered a failure. Anyway I was pretty down about it and decided to take a break fromschool. However that isn't a good idea. I decided to take summer classes andwill be retaking the class in fall. I know it isn't good but I am not going tolet one mishap keep me down so my journey to keep trying in school is my little improvement. I finally changed over to a transferable major and looking intothe engineering program here as well as in the sunshine state. Hope everyone is making little improvements.
