dmoore
OK, this probably won't sound good but I need some advice. I set a date w/ a girl for Sat. night. I've only met up w/ her once before and thought she was cool and would like to hang out again... but a party has come up in my area and I'd rather go there for this particular night. Any advice on how to break a date the night/day before the date? Is this putting a nail in the coffin w/ this girl?
JustSoRight
[is this putting a nail in the coffin w/ this girl?] Yep. You will probably lose your chance with her. You must not be too interested if you want to break the date for a party. I would have invited the person I liked along. But that's just me.
Pookette
Can't you bring her along? Imagine how peeved she would be if she showed up at the same party.
SGB8098
Same thing happend to me a coule of weeks ago....obviously iknew he wsan't interested That is a bit rude especially if the change is lasts minute. But , that is just my opinion. Invite her along, or to be at the party for an hour or two then meet up with her elsewhere.
Unlucky In Love
Maybe, I'm a little more laid back, but it's no big deal breaking a date. Just let her know that something came up and you'd like to see her a different night instead. If she's interested, she'll be flexible. Tell her that you'll make it up to her by taking her out to a nice dinner and then do it. People understand when things come up. Just make sure your excuse sounds good. Good luck! Let us know what happens...
Shasta
I'm laid back as well, but if someone told me they couldn't make it because there was a family emergency or something, and then showed up where I was(not knowing I would be there mind you) I wouldn't give him a second look. Make sure your excuse is well thought up.
JustSoRight
If you're gonna break a date shouldn't you be honest. He should have said "Hey I want to go to this party, and I'll just take you out tommorrow." Then she'd know what she got ditched for. I wonder if he took her or if he cancelled?
