2Sunny, if you are inclined to pray, please pray that the diagnosis is not cancer. I don't want to go into any detail because I am painfully superstitious but, someone I love will find out on Monday if she has cancer. And thank you for caring about the welfare of a perfect stranger!

It looks like you may have to wait until March 19 or 20th = 30 days from sign up...

Unless you pay a monthly nominal fee to be a supporting member... Then you should have pm right away - I think.

it's made even worse by the fact that my husband is a "techie" ( it's his job) and I think he forgets that I am not...and also that because I am not, I don't understand all the widgety little dodads and "aps" he has on his Ipod and our laptop ( he's excited because "it's a Mac...look at all it can do!"...all I care about it doing is surfing the internet, watching a movie or show, and maybe typing or powerpoint and mahjong...anyhting else is a pain in the @ss)

( I also don't understand why our house needs to have computers for 5 people, nor why my son has 2 and has 6 different operating systems on each...what the heck is going on in my house:laugh:)

Were it not for my job I would not have an iMac, an iPod, an iPad or a flat screen TV.....I'd still be watching a black and white with an antenna!!! I'll figure out how to PM you eventually. In the meantime, say a prayer for M.

I gotta say - I LOVE my new iPad! It's like a miracle!

I'm sitting in my backyard right now in the sunshine... With this iPad that's literally like holding a book.

And I am reading a book on it, typing to you guys, reading emails and playing words with friends all at the same time! This is magical!

don't have a Tv, as I'm too cheap to pay for cable or satellite:laugh:

sending good positive thoughts to your friend, and for you too.

my husband is like you...he loves his iPod, but why he needs to have over 3,000 songs on it baffles me...I'm content with my simple MP3 player with maybe 60 songs ( pretty much all of them pre 2000)

Can you use it outside? That's cool. So the sunshine doesn't prohibit you from using it outdoors then?

My sister and I are two hours apart......currently trying to get her into a hospice facility in the city I live in. I feel like I am living a nightmare. Never imagined that I would outlive my younger siblings. I was there the day she was born, changed her diapers, kissed her boo-boos. Pray for my strength to get through this, please.

:( Cancer sucks!!!!

Just love her and spend time with her. Keep the humour going, too. She's going to need that.

hopefully you'll be able to find a space for her is hospice in your city so that you can spend as much time with her as possible. She'll need your strength right now, but you may just find that you find a source of strength for yourself in her.

I'm so sorry you and your sister are going through all this...cancer is just plain unfair

wishing you strength right now, i know you have it in you

I spent all day yesterday on the phone learning about the ins and outs of nursing homes and hospice. My dear sister had ocular melanoma a few years ago that left her legally blind and on permanent disability. This liver cancer is a result of the spread of the ocular melanoma. She has no financial resources but, there are options for people who are destitute. My other sister is on her way to spend time with sick sister today with a list of things she has to do to help get her into hospice care. I will be traveling this weekend......hopefully to bring her to my city and into hospice. Thank you all for your support.

Hi Bailey, I just popped on the last page of this thread to check it out. I'm so sorry to hear about your sister. :(

I've all ready said a prayer for you and your family to have the strength to get through this sad time.

If you still need to know about pm's; you get them after 50 posts and 30 days from joining. It looks like you can enable them on March 19th.

I wish you well.

Ms.Red, thank you for your prayers. I harbor no delusions about the outcome but, prayers for strength are greatly appreciated.
