MissBee
My sister's blood tests indicate that the chemotherapy did no good. She has only weeks to live. Oh my God, my heart is in a million little pieces. Please, please, please pray for her soul. This is devastating. I can only imagine how you feel. But my prayers indeed will go up for her, you and your family. *hugs and prayers*
Author Bailey14
And the hits just keep on coming........my dog almost died in my yard last night. She couldn't breathe and became cyanotic. I rushed her to my vet and the diagnosis is laryngeal paralysis. We are going to try to treat it with prednisone and a mild sedative. My sister will be admitted to a beautiful hospice facility tomorrow or Friday. The facility is in the city I live in so K and I can visit her everyday until the end. I am numb. Author Bailey14
Just came from visiting the Hospice.......a beautiful place staffed by the most loving women I have ever met. There are 6 bedrooms in the home.....only 2 are being used right now. The director asked me which room I thought M might like.....the one decorated in purple hues will be her choice, I am sure. K will be bringing her here on Friday. The medical report indicates that she will pass away in a matter of weeks. May God bless her soul. My dog is home with me........she seems to be doing OK. Bailey.... When it rains it pours! I will have to tell you what happened to my husband at the time, just ten (10) days after we buried our son! It will make your head spin....But enough about me! Your poor doggie! I know hospice workers are ANGELS sent from God! The women are so caring, patient and loving not only to the patient but to the family! Don't be so quick to think the medical report is set in stone...You never know, there could be a Miracle! Hugs and prayers to you Bailey!!!! Keep putting one foot in front of the other! frozensprouts
i'm glad that your sister is going into hospice, and that when her time comes to leave this world, she'll be surrounded by people that love and care for her...in the end, sometimes that's the greatest gift you can give someone... just to be there for them. She'll be surrounded by love, and this will grant her a sense of peace... my thoughts are with all three of you

How did that happen? Did one of the moderators remove it? M and K will be arriving in my city tomorrow. We will spend as much time as we can with M but, I am thankful that K will get a break from the overnight hours. She is so very, very tired.

M and K should be arriving at the hospice facility within the hour. I took Easter flowers over earlier today so her bedroom will smell of lilacs and mums. I suspect today will be the hardest day of her life. It has to sobering to realize that this is the room she will die in. My heart is sooooooo heavy.

M has been admitted to the hospice facility. K and I unpacked all of her clothing, etc. and got her settled in her room. She has a beautiful patio right outside of her room that seems to be very popular with all the birds, squirrels, and rabbits in the neighborhood. She is scared and depressed but, she will be very well cared for. Tomorrow K and I will be bringing all her favorite holiday meal treats.....she can't eat much so we want to make sure what we bring her are her favorites.

MissBee
We will prevail! You really will It's hard to be cheery in such moments...but the good thing is, you guys have time now. Some people go out in the morning, say bye to their loved ones and never make it home for dinner and the family had no clue it would happen. We all know death is inevitable for all, but it's still the unknown and scary and sad; but, I think there is a small blessing in having time to prepare like you will now. I don't know what your beliefs are, but for me, I really resonated with what another poster said about her friend staying with her dying husband and how it was the most peaceful experience. I have read a lot about that and it seems to be a common theme, which brings me comfort, as I don't believe it is "the end" but a transition and not something to be feared. You guys will prevail and live and love the time you do have and make it all count and I pray for your sister, your family and of course your strength and peace. *hugs*

Author Bailey14
My dear sister is developing a sense of humor in her waning days! On Tuesday she received a visit from one of our cousins, who is a Catholic priest. He sat with her for four hours and she really enjoyed his company. While he was there, the music therapist came to her room and asked if she would like to hear some harp music. She said yes. When the harpist asked her what she would like to hear she said "Well, my cousin is a priest and you play heavenly music.....how about something evil?" We all had a really good laugh! The hospice is an amazing place. My brother, who is in the medical profession, said he has never been more impressed with a medical facility in his life. My sisters and I have not seen our brother in years(he lives all the way across the country) so the visit has been bittersweet. I will never let 5 years go by again without seeing my brother. WildHorses
This rollercoaster of emotions will NEVER stop until this inappropriate relationship between you and him ends. Who cares if he is Catholic? That does not make him exempt from sin. That does not mean somebody is a good person just because they go to church. My aunt is having an affair with a married man. He is NOT going to leave his wife, EVER. Not only does this relationship affect her, creates depression, she has tried killing herself because of the huge mess she is in, but this affects other family members as well. It has affected he son, her sisters, even me. She is my Godmother and I love her with all of my heart, but seeing her in this situation completely disgusts me. My mom's friend was in a 10 year affair. The man never legally divorced his wife. He proposed to my mom's friend, but she finally wised up and terminated the relationship. She also found out he was cheating on her. This will sound harsh. GET THIS THROUGH YOUR HEAD, HE IS NOT GOING TO LEAVE HIS WIFE! You are only adding more unnecessary stress and heartache into your life. This affair you are so selfishly having, affects other people, not just you and him. Honestly, shame on you and him for doing this. Ripping families apart. I understand that you had some history there from high school or whatever, but there is nothing you can do now. He is married, not going to leave his wife. Have some respect for yourself. If you need to see a therapist do so. Lean on your family, and end this relationship. It is going nowhere! You will remain miserable in this current situation you are in. So no, the pain does not end until you terminate this diseased relationship.
