bentnotbroken
Donna's avatar is Lil Kim who is a rapper. Thank you Woggle for your defense of me and Donna. You have known us longer and I appreciate effort.
bentnotbroken
There is no "wow" about it. It's very clear that donna chose that precise avatar because she identifies with the image she selected--loud, in your face, aggressive, possibly promiscuous, you can never get her to shut up, and if you tell her to shut up, she'll shoot her mouth off even more. If she's as honest as she claims to be, maybe donna will admit that her avatar was chosen to convey an image of her that is precisely what is visually reflected in that avatar. No it isn't clear. Avatars are just that. They do not say who a person is. It might display some of their likes(loves) or dislikes, but that's about it.
bentnotbroken
Lil Kim is a gansta rapper. She didn't post a picture of Michelle Obama or Nelson Mandela or Coretta Scott King or the Dali Lama. Yes, I am aware of that. Thank you for pointing it out though.

dreamingoftigers
I am not talking about my own marriage. Also what questions do I not directly answer? Actually, you routinely ignore stuff I ask you. For a little but I thought I might have been put on ignore.
bentnotbroken
Maybe you should start giving him the same consideration. Such as not insisting on calling him "hateful" (donna did that) or a "misogynist" (Mme. Chaucer did that) simply because he expresses honest and credible opinions. And when of your sistahs like Mme. Chaucer should do it, call her out once in a while, as soserious promised to do, but apparently doesn't feel like keeping that promise. I didn't call him hateful. I have one sister and she is not on this site that I am aware of. I think the path he is on is unhealthy as I have stated and will continue to do so in spite of what anyone else calls me. I like labels. I have collected many of them in the years I have been on this site. They have as of yet changed my opinion or the road I travel. I am too old to give a flying rat's azz about what someone calls me on a site of people that I don't know and have very little (there are a few I have gotten to know off the site and love to pieces:love: you know who you are)effect on my life. Author Woggle
Lil Kim is more sexual than gangsta plus I like gangster flicks and playing Grand Theft Auto so I can't really judge it. She really ruined her face though.
bentnotbroken
We are all about the truth here, are we not? At least that's what donna and you and some others claim. Well what is the truth? What is the purpose of selection of a gangsta rappah as an avatar? It's just a musical preference? OK if so donna can explain that if she chooses. Yes, I am aware of that also. Why did you choose the candy bar? Why does Art choose a clown? Why did I choose a fairy this year and super hero last year? Why does my son choose a dodge ram, since he drives a Chevy? Who the hell knows or truly cares? If a conversation about marriage gets changed to the selection of an avatar, one might think that the conversation has come to a close and it is time to move on.

dreamingoftigers
And you don't think male celebrities like Tiger Woods have "you go, you're the man" supporters? Sorry but I saw plenty of blistering commentary on the internet from men outraged by the prospect that Elin was going to score a huge divorce settlement. Plenty of comments that she should get next to nothing because she married a pro athlete & it's widely known that none of them are faithful. Female celeb's ? LeAnn Rimes is still the focus of intense criticism & scorn for her behavior! She might live it down but sticking it out long enough to live down a scandal isn't the same as having bad behavior endorsed & supported. Heck, every time I see a pic of her " home wrecker" is the first thought to come to my mind. Meg Ryan's career pretty much flatlined when she took off on Dennis Quaid. Then his career got boosted because of it.
Author Woggle
I don't know who Lil Kim "really" is in real life, she could be a PhD in atomic physics like the guy from "Kiss" for all anyone knows. It is the IMAGE of Lil Kim that is presented and has been adopted as avatar, that is the issue. I don't know why she picked her as an avatar but I know Donna is nothing like that image. She is one of the women on here who actually does have a good man and appreciates him. She gushes about him all the time.
dreamingoftigers
Actually the cheating men for some reason seem to stay married longer. Men who actually do treat women well never seem to be appreciated. Only 35% of marriages survive adultery. Most adultery is perpetrated by men (sorry, true).
bentnotbroken
This is good but you also have to call out everyone else in the thread who read the exact same post by Mme. Chaucer that you're responding to yet apparently accepts her attitude. That would include bentnotbroken, xxoo, donnamaybe.....lots of people. Everyone who gave her a "pass" on it. It's a shame that someone like Woggle has the guts to make a heartfelt post about his deepest fears about his marriage only to be brutally attacked by numerous women who are misandrists but do it under the banner of attacking misogyny in a warped Orwellian minuet. I didn't give anyone a pass. I didn't give you a pass for the things you have said that are rude and out of control, nor anyone else. The difference in me and you, is I was addressing Woggle about his actions. I have been here long enough to know what he has been through, I have watched him struggle, I know he loves his wife and she him, I also know he is better than the life he is living now. You.... I don't know a thing about you. Woggle has redeeming qualities that allow us to care about him and his welfare. When he was in the path of a dangerous storm we prayed for his safety. When his mom chewed him a new hole because he showed care and concern for her...we were here. The long timers are a family here. We fight like most families. And I don't suspect that is going to change because someone stamps their feet or stand up on the monkey bars and yells louder than everyone else.

donnamaybe
Oh, and as for marriage, as you know my sweety and I have decided to tie the knot. So no - marriage is just fine if you have the proper ingredients.

I cannot speak for everybody in this thread, just myself. I like Woggle, if i didn't I wouldn't bother responding to his posts. He has admitted to spending considerable amounts of time searching for "proof" that his wife is going to screw him over, he's also admitted that this woman really has no clue as to the true depth of his fears, nor does his therapist. I don't chose to love again because doing so would mean that I'd have to give a guy an honest shot by admitting my demons & actively looking to rid myself of them. That's not something I want to do, getting involved in a committed relationship with anybody would be wrong & unfair. Woggle isn't "hateful" but IMHO he is wrong, choosing to marry again means giving your spouse an honest shot ..... he's sitting here waiting for her to screw him over, he might love her but he really doesn't trust her.. and that is info she deserves to have.

xxoo
What?!?!?!?! No. Definitely not true when over 70% divorces are initiated by mostly women. Explain how the fact that 70% of women file paperwork for divorce means that men definitely do not perpetrate most of adultery. Women explain, again and again, that they file for divorce when their husband cheats. Or when he leaves, but fails to file for divorce. Men don't file for divorce, on the whole. That doesn't mean that men are more loyal, or more dedicated to marriage. It just means they don't want to divorce. They want to have their cake and eat it, too.
Author Woggle
I am not saying that there are not women who file for those reasons but just look at this forum and you will see that many men are blindsided by women who they thought were happy. I wish there was more empathy for men who are a little paranoid about that happening to them. I work with a guy who is engaged and he is scared like hell of this happening to him. I think there are many individuals who treat marriage great but is clear it is an institution in crisis and something needs to happen.
bentnotbroken
Wow this is pretty condescending. You deem the woggle is living his life should be "better", oh really? You didn't give Mme. Chaucer a pass when she blatantly accused Woggle, and every man who came out of the woodwork in his support, of mysogyny? You still don't get it. I have to give a rat's azz to say anything. When I want to respond I do. When I don't want to...I don't. Simple as that.
bentnotbroken
More condescension, which is just a form of pompous dishonesty. Oh and by the way this is a message board not a "family." Investing your emotions in an internet message board to the extent it becomes some kind of emotional "family substitute" is definitely unhealthy. Maybe it's time for a break for you. More condescension then....not on your life sonny.
