Thinking of ending it in Arizona.

I wonder if SmileFace and Grinning Maniac are related? Haha, just kidding…

OP, I am very happy to hear that your change of scenery helped you to get a change of perspective. Hold onto it. When the wave of darkness approaches you again, if it does, just put your head down and get through the day. You'll make it to happier times.

... next thing we hear is that he got bit by a rattlesnake while rejoicing in Arizona's natural beauty, and that finished him.

I honestly wish I had. It would have had some dignity.

Just got back from a nightclub in Flagstaff where I got ignored and rejected by every girl in the place, despite being dressed nice and being upbeat and positive on the dance floor. **** this place. I should have done what I came here to do. This is never going to change. No one wants to get close to me. **** it.

Your entire reason for living is to impress random women in a club? I guess if that's all you care about, then I can understand how you could feel so low. You would be doing yourself a big favor by forgetting all that and going after something in life you care about regardless of what some fickle women think or do.

There must be something else that defines you.

No that's not all that defines me. There's a lot else. But as a man, it doesn't make you feel good to be ignored/cast-off. And I'm just tired of it happening ad nauseum. Is it so much to ask that I could have a fun flirtatious connection with someone else from time to time? Most people seem to take it for granted.

OP everyone has an inner voice which can be very self critical.

You are listening to it too much.

We all have to learn to ignore it or challenge it and this is an important part of our journey. Please don't be fooled into thinking that having a girl will stop the cycle of self criticism. In fact I would strongly advise that you get yourself on a more even keel before entering into a relationship as you could wreck it/never really feel it because of not teaching yourself how to deal with your inner voice.

If the voice becomes very strong and you start to develop behaviours around it then you need to seek out help immediately.

Hope you can call the number given by Oldguy now whilst the level of self criticism is lower. Don't wait to be in crisis. This is so important.. I cannot express it enough.

Remember some level of suicidal ideation is normal. Planning it and **** like that is not normal and it would be good for you to talk things through now as the self criticism thing could push you over the edge one day..

Lighten up, open up and probably go to the cinema or something.

BTW, Arizona sounded very beautiful. You inspired me to look up some pictures. :) Cheers for that.

All the best,

Take care,

Eve x

Going to a nightclub to pick up a chick isn't a great idea. EVERY SINGLE woman in there knows that most guys are there cruising to get laid and/or just to hit on gals. If you are looking for someone to 'date' and get to know, honestly you'd be better off striking up a conversation with a woman while grocery shopping or just being out and about, let it happen naturally.

Don't let that nightclub experience turn you off and make you feel bad. That's the wrong setting for you.

It's time to pay attention to the things that are in your life that do make you feel good.

Sheesh, you have had things so much better than I, and you're considering offing yourself?

I guess it is true that some people don't know how good they've had it and always want more.

Everything is relative I guess. Just because my life is less ****ty than someone else's doesn't mean I'm unjustfied in feeling frustration if I don't have what I want and what I want isn't unreasonable.

Wanting to kill myself because I can't have 5 girlfriends at once and a gold plated car....that's pretty ridiculous. This...not so much. Love and acceptance is a pretty standard human need.

Yeah, try having never had a GF, getting rejected by everybody, friendzone or nothing, and the only way to get laid is by paying for it.
