Al
I recently decided to go back to school and my classes start next week. Obviously this decision has put a damper on my financial situation. I'm looking for suggestions on fun things that my boyfriend and I can do this summer on a budget. I can't spend the whole summer at home doing nothing and all my friends ever do is go to the bars which can get costly. Any suggestions?
Miss_Prolixity
Hi Al, I don't know what state you're located in, but if you live near an ocean or mountains, you can find a lot of enjoyment for free. I live fairly close the mountains, so it's quite enjoyable to take a long drive through the breath-taking canyon scenery. You can also pack a lunch and have a pinic or go for a long summer hike. If you live close to a beach or lake, how about going for a swim? Perhaps bring some intertubes. Also, I love fishing, and it's relatively cheap (if you have fishing gear). Also, what about going to a park? Some people love to rollerblade through them. Or, do either of you have bicycles? Another thing our community provides is free concerts. They've just built an amphitheatre in our area. Christopher Cross has performed, so you might want to check into something like that. Also check in your local community newspaper and find the entertainment section, they usually provide information on relatively fun/cheap things to do.
Pookette
Go fishing. That's all I'm going to do this summer! You can get a cheap, yet decent rod at any of the -marts out there. Bait is cheap or even free if you catch it yourself.
