What is your average day?

Hey, not sure where to post this, as it is just a general lifetyle question...

I lead a pretty hectic life. I'm a solicitor in a large corporate firm who has a personal training business on the side. Sometimes I feel like I don't have time to breath but then I look at some of my colleagues, who are working mothers with busy social lives... I also have a brother who is a teacher who would die if he had to work longer than 6 hours a day and spends his weekends sleeping. I was just struck by the different paths we take and how much people feel that they can cope with. I guess everything is relative.

What is an average day for you? What time do you get up and go to sleep? Do you work, study, exercise? I'm curious!

I understand about not being able to breathe because of a busy schedule! :bunny:

4:30 AM Alarm goes off

4:50 AM I crawl out of bed

chores, let dogs out, feed them, check on my mom (sick & living with us), fix lunch, iron, yadda yadda

6:10 AM leave for bus stop

Snooze on bus to work

6:45 - 7:00 arrive at work

boring, boring, boring, each lunch and look for a new job, send out resumes, find a private office and make job search phone calls, back to my desk fiddle around on LS on and off all day, yadda yadda yadda

4:57 PM leave work and walk to bus stop

5:10 - 5:20 get on bus and head back to the P&R

5:40 PM get in car and drive home (or hubby picks me up if he had the car that day)

6:10 - 6:20 PM arrive home and start rotating the dogs from their kennels

6:20 - 6:30 PM fix dinner (or help fix dinner)

7:00 make sure everyone is fed, continue the dog rotations (every hour a different set of dogs comes out and the ones out go back to their kennels)

7:00 PM - 12:30 AM take care of dogs, mother, whatever chores need to be done, sit with my feet up and watch TV. (last night we didn't watch TV and just did chores, night before we watched Pirates of the Carribean)

12:30 AM - all dogs are kennel-led, mom is in bed, I go to bed and read for an hour. Husband sometimes plays on computer or comes to bed and sleeps while I read.

1:30 or so AM - 4:30 AM sleep

Repeat that five days a week. The weekend is the same except that I rotate the dogs more often since I'm home all day and that is when I do the heavy housework and run errands too, and do a couple hours volunteering at the shelter where I clean kennels, socialize dogs, counsel adoptive families, and cry when we lose one or find one that is hurting. I come home tired and drained. We try to swim on the weekends - but our pool is currently in need of repair so we have not been swimming.

A couple of years ago we swam every day after work - but then I worked closer to home and we had dinner by 5:30 and were in the pool from about 5:45 to 6:45. 7:30 is too late to go swimming during the week for me. I'd never get any sleep!

That has been the routine for the last ten years. The only exception was that we went to San Antonio for the day last Valentines day. We've had a couple of get-togethers over the years (BBQ & Pool Parties, etc.) but the routine pretty much stays the same. We don't vacation because we can't afford it. Routines have varied during health crisis and surgeries, etc. but we quickly resume this pace. I'm always tired.

Somedays I say "screw it" and don't get up until 5:30AM (I always sleep in until then on the weekend)
