binny Posted March 13, 2012 Share Posted March 13, 2012 I'm really close with my sister, but I don't get on with her husband. It was partly due to me that they got together but over the years he has changed (or perhaps just shown his true colours) and we don't get on. Part of the reason I guess is that he is jealous of me. She can't even speak on the phone with me while his is around because he gets jealous and says she never gives him any attention etc. She isn't very happy with him, wanted to call off the wedding but didn't have the courage to do so, wanted to divorce him but again, lacked the courage to do so. We used to be very close but since she got married I feel like we have drifted apart because of him. She is coming to visit me next month and he is also coming. I don't want him to come but my parents have said that he is her husband and I have to accept that they do things together now. Fine. My issue is where they are going to sleep. I have a 2 bed apartment but only 1 double bed which is my bed in my room. I'm not prepared to give up my room for them. I feel that my room is my private space within my home for me. I don't want to feel like I'm not comfortable within my own home because I can't go in my room. I would feel like I would have have to ask my sister to go in the room to get my clothes etc My parents are saying that I should and that I'm being selfish.. Am I being selfish and unreasonable? Should I give up my room so they can sleep together? Is it really such a big deal if they sleep seperately for a weekend? They could still sleep in the same room, and unless they squeezed onto a single bed it would just mean separate mattresses.. Maybe things would be different if I felt more comfortable around him.. Her husband doesn't like me but he refuses to let her visit me by herself because he gets jealous and/or doesn't trust her. Link to post Share on other sites
