I think the mistake you made was not building a life for yourself. In ldr's you have to find a life as well, even though you may have to force yourself. Just think how blah it must be to get the same call every day not being happy and just going on how you miss her so much. One of the things I look forward to is telling my boyfriend everything I did during the day- or send him pictures throughout the day and he does the same. I was in another ldr that didn't work out before - and I did the same thing you did. I felt so hurt and lost after it ended, so I know how much it hurts. Author tommycapnpants Posted April 6, 2012 Author Share Posted April 6, 2012 thanks everyone for the replies. well, i didnt fly to austin to see her. i went to new olreans and enjoyed being around old friends and new ones. oddly enough, the one girl i had relations with has the same name as my ex...ooouch. i did a lot of crazy things while i was there, crazy in a fun way though. glad to be back home in vegas and ready to start anew. i have always worked out but, now i am joining a crossfit gym tomorrow and really looking forward to that, and meeting the new people from the gym. lastly, i couldnt resist the urge to reply to her text. i was about 4 bloody marys deep and waiting for the plane to take off and replied with this "i want you to be happy, whether or not we are together. there is nothing to forgive. i am on the plane to new orleans. no matter what...i love you." *face to palm* 2 Link to post Share on other sites

I was in the same shoes, filling money and thinking long term when my ex who was older didn't understand security/stability.
