Suggestions on being more alpha male

Recommended Posts

why is it bad to learn new abilities?

Beats me. That's what you parsed from what I wrote, not what I wrote. You know, when I said I am all for it, referencing self-improvement, that means I am for self-improvement. Which bit of that makes you think I think learning new skills is a bad thing?

its all about mentality bro. We are all insecure at some point. but we pushed passed it and we get great. Just like the stock markets, we go up and down.. but to win this, you have to know what to do in good/bad situations.

Alpha males are exude a confidence that makes them inhuman... but trust me, they are.

I see a lot of traditional stuff here, even a few lists. But in the end, there will always be a disagreement: some women like men with diplomatic skills, some others would like to see their boyfriend clean the windows with whoever just tried to touch her breasts. Don't start training on new habits and behaviour. They'll be judged differently by everyone, just like your old ones.

In the end, only 1 thing matters: determination. Perseverance.

No matter what you do, give it 105 percent of your capabilities, and always feel comfortable doing it. Always question yourself, but not too much. Choose, but be decisive as well. Do it better, harder, longer, ... You always have to wonder about what you do, mining for oil on the Mount Everest just because you can will not make you an Alpha Male, but a total nutbag. Think well, act well.

I actualy think its the laziest thing a person can do to just work a bunch because they say they just want money. F that. I'm about life as a journey not a destination. Fact is if you work hard at what you love you'll be the best you and go the farthest.

Amen.

You attempted to dissuade him, which to me didn't make sense.

On the contrary, I would like him to consider that having the confidence in one self - self-confidence - is made immeasurably easier to maintain if one does not become enslaved to any idea that creates losers; especially an idea that penalises his characteristics, such as the alpha-male idea.

To not ascribe to such an idea is an improvement in self-image and his self-worth - a self-improvement - because it places his self above an abstract notion.

Okay - I guess I should be asking..

How to be a better gentleman :)?

I work in the medical field..a week ago physician was lecturing me on my mistake, which eventually became anger and yelling.

I understand he is under a lot of stress and my mistake had nothing to do with the patients safety. I think he just decided to vent and I was the only person there.

I'm not going to lie..my eyes got watery, but no tears. I thought to myself..this will happen a lot. I need to gain confidence fast, how would a gentleman take this lecturing.

So I went home, constantly going over the scenario of being yelled at and at what I did wrong. I read that a "gentleman" would just realize his mistake, learn from it, and get over it. I didn't do that.

I kept replaying the scenario..doubting myself over and over again. To the point where I thought to myself, If I can't get this right, how will I ever become a physician myself. The next couple of days at work I second guessed everything I did.

I don't want to feel like that anymore. One person was able to shake my whole foundation. Screw that. No one should be able to make me feel that way but myself.

And I will become a great physician. Probably good I didn't get into one since I am not confident and second guess myself. I guess I need to graduate from University of Confidence and get my masters degree in swag before I can go to med school :)

Long post. Sorry, full of emotions.
