Why do older guys go for the much younger girl?

Smaller? If you mean younger, well, take a look at the guys online. Frankly, a lot of them can consider themselves lucky if they get any woman, let's not talk about younger ones.

Nice dodge.

Or do you claim poor reading comprehension skills?

In what universe is smaller a synonym for younger?

answer the question.

I already said I don't really care too much what you guys are doing nor what kind of explanations you come up. Phineas asked me why I considered their preferences absurd and I gave him explanation.

I do hope the majority of guys online is not representative of normal guys in real life. I've never thought that much about men's age preferences until I tried online dating.

Are you delusional?

In no way did you even touch upon the subject of me wanting a woman "smaller" than me.

Instead you just changed what I said to suit your own needs & still didn't answer anything.

You just made yourself look bitter by making fun of men online.

Where exactly did you tel me what was wrong with ME wanting a woman smaller than ME?

I'm not about to read the entire thread, but the answer is simple:

Men go after younger women because younger women give them the ability to do so.

There are so many young girls out there looking for an "established man who can spoil her." You hear about this all the time. The girls want a man who is financially stable and can give the girl a little bit of glamour.

Many of these men are willing to give them just that in exchange for having a a young, vibrant, beauty in their arm.

Both genders want something from each other that we may otherwise be upset about if we can't provide it.

The older women are upset with the men who choose the younger girls because they are no longer youthful. The men who are less well-off are jealous at the men who are because they get their pickings of the women. It all works out in the end.

This isn't just about age and wealth either. There is a bunch of other characteristics that people look in one another. It's just natural. No need to bitch about it and make the other gender look evil. That just makes you look like a jealous individual.

What the hell are you talking about?? I haven't mentioned the words "small" or "smaller" or "tall" or "short" at all in this thread. Why are you talking about height and why do you assume that any of my posts in this thread referred to you?

 yeah, get back to us with that again when you've been on the receiving end of lack of attention from the opposite gender.

Oh, the penny dropped, not "small" as in "short", but you were thinking about someone who is not fat. Well, I don't care either.

I think most of us male or female has been on the receiving end so there is no need for the get back to us comment to avoid the fact you hate preferences which in fact is hypocritical

Reading some of your posts, you seem to be quite upset with the male population. You have a sort of misandrist tone in your replies.

I suspect you were somehow, in your mind, "wrongly" scorned by the "bad man" and you feel a sort of fulfillment by simply not contributing anything to this board than your sly remarks.

Do you need a hug?

I have dated fat guys! One of the best lovers I ever had was actually fat!

I don't understand why you are being mean to be honest. You tell me I come off bitter but so do you and 123. You both seem to fail to see this in yourselves. At least I admit that I can be bitter and frustrated about men.

I do understand how you feel and I recently went through a phase where I felt pretty down about it, but in the end, it's useless to get upset about these guys. I think you will have more success when you concentrate on the guys who don't care that much about a woman's age. The majority of the guys I saw on the online dating site I really didn't want to date. So while I found their preferences to be absurd and irritating, in the end, it doesn't really matter that much. And while it's kind of sad that guys who seem right for you have this preference, there are still others who don't have it.

LOL!

Please explain how me wanting a woman smaller than me is being absurd.

I have failed to find the mention of a woman's height in any of this.

Just weight.

So you knew exactly what I was talking about.

And for someone who claims to not care you still felt the need to make fun of those men & claim they were absurd.

Also, regardless of whether you thought small meant short or not, you can't claim small is the same as age. Which is what you focused on.

You have been called out on it & now playing dumb.

If there is one thing that amazes me about women it's their ability to so easily not take accountability for the things they say.

Even when their quoted on an internet forum.

My comment focused solely on men and their preferences regarding age since this is a thread about older men wanting to date younger women. Why the hell you have to bring in size I don't know and I don't understand the connection between my comment and your preference regarding weight.

So maybe, if you want, you might think about why I and guys like me are so happy and you and women who start threads like this are so bitter and frustrated.

No... we are just confused at the apparent disconnect some men have with reality and how they can get away with being so ridiculously UN self aware.

Ignorance is bliss, it seems.

Is it about not getting attention from the opposite gender?

Or is it not getting the attention of the men/women you want? "Top" men/women?

The parameters for a datable woman AND man are often very tight around here.

Me either. I was rather shocked... Before I tried OLD, I had this idea that men wanted women they were actually compatible with :p

... and were fairminded... and self aware (at least to a similar extent as women)...

One thing I've gotten from this thread...

I'm going to stop automatically turning away every much younger man who comes my way.

In the past I've turned them away based on principle. But if the guys claim it's ok to open up their dating parameters to include much younger women... then I guess I shouldn't be too terribly worried about opening mine.

Fair is fair.

Might aswell. Those kind of relationships can certainly work well, I've seen it.

Absolutely!

Being similar age doesn't necessarily mean more compatible. Personally, if I wanted the most chance at finding love, I wouldn't automatically turn away younger OR older. Just because an older man is interested in you doesn't mean he is a bad guy. He might just be really into you!

The differences I have with most older men than me is generational and cultural.

We'll see though.

What reality? The reality is I'm dating women (when I'm dating) that I find incredibly attractive. I don't fully understand why dating is so damn good to me and a lot of other people seem to have issues, but I'm not complaining about it either.

As for self aware, I'm happy as a clam and the women I date give every indication of being thrilled during the time we are together, so I feel OK with the situation.

Can you tell me where you feel I'm going wrong?

I have the same experience and same feelings in regards to dating. No problems here.

I just turned 40 and although I am not interested due to the age gap... I had a 22 year old girl get my number from a buddy of mine and she hit me up via text last night. Extremely attractive, wonderful girl, comes from a great family, no baggage and a virgin too (met her through church).

So if I didn't care about the age gap, didn't have a lot of other women who were just as good her but in their mid to late 20s and in their 30's... Why do the women on here think or expect me to be with a 30 something women who doesn't look as good as her and has 3 cartloads of luggage?

If those were my only two choices, there isn't a man on the planet that would choose the screwed up 30 something over the "innocent" and hotter 22 year old. Why women fail to understand this is beyond me. Maybe if women would think about this when they are in their 20's they would make better decisions, be more careful about the type of guys they date, not marry losers, not burn the candle at both ends and let themselves go... they wouldn't have to deal with the issue / competition in their 30s.

Speaking only for myself, I made a lot more misery for any man while I was in my 20's than I did when I was into my 30's and much more together. I looked good, too.

Why limit yourself?

Just because someone is younger doesn't mean they aren't compatible.
