Gazelle8675
Let me know if this is the wrong thread, but I didn't know where it would go. I have this friend, who I've known for several years. Lately, I've grown to like her more and more, and think she might feel the same, but I'm TERRIBLE at reading things like that. Anyway, I was thinking of asking her to prom, but was unsure of how to go about doing that. She doesn't seem like someone that'd want a huge scene, and I'm not the type of guy to give one. Is this even a good idea? Should I say "as a friend" so she's more comfortable? She's never had a guy take her to prom or homecoming before. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! Also, she's a year older than me and will be going to college at the end of this summer. Edited April 5, 2012 by Gazelle8675 Forgot to include something
january2011
Catch her alone, steer the conversation towards prom, then ask, "Hey, would you go to the prom with me?" Don't put pressure on the situation by adding "as a friend" - she might like you in a romantic way and if you added that, she might think that you were hinting that you only see her as a friend, when you don't. Just play it by ear. You two might have a great time together. The issue regarding college can be discussed at a later date if the two of you develop a romantic relationship.
