Do I look best with my hair shaved really short or grown out a bit more?

The "really short" pic isn't "really short" to me at all. There's barely a difference between the two pictures.

I think you need to buzz it SHORT. Like, short-short-short. Like __ short.

Your hair is too straight to do anything with style-wise, IMO.

That's true, it's very straight.

I used to have my hair much longer when I was a kid and it looked terrible IMO.

My forehead is too big and bulbous too, so having the fringe way too short, or having it much longer makes me look ridiculous. The only way it looks right is to have it about as short as it is in those pictures.

Also, if I had my hair much longer and smeared it with product to try and make it look stylish it would make my hair look a lot more red which I'd hate. I don't like greasy looking hair anyway.

I distinctly recall you asked this a couple of times before.

Regardless, my response still remains the same as Hokie's.

In your shoes, I would do what is comfortable for YOU, though. But hey, you asked. :)

That's true, at the end of the day I should just go for what ever makes me feel comfortable.

What I don't understand is why you seem to have your mind very clearly made up on what you prefer, yet consistently post this question. It's great that you have a clear idea of what you like on yourself. So own it and do it! Why would you make several threads asking about it when you really are not even considering one of the options that you asked about?

I'm just curious about what people think. Sometimes it can be a real eye opener.

But, Ross, your opinions have remained wholely unchanged despite getting varied advice in your other threads and this one. In fact, even the reasons you quoted are the same! You clearly don't want to keep your hair any longer, and nothing anyone has said or will say will change that. So accept that and move on. You have more important things to worry about anyhow. :)

In theory, if you were a Barbie doll or something, I'd agree with this.

Way too short in both pics. The reason the second pic looks "unstylish" to you is that it's not long enough to really do anything with and too long to leave unstyled.

I challenge you to grow out your hair for a couple months. Seriously. It will be a painstaking process, but I think it will do you some good. I wouldn't even get maintenance cuts...just give a stylist a "blank canvas" to work with...

I think your face is too round for such short hair...

I consider the hair REALLY short in both pics.

But you're a real person with an idea on how you like your hair, so you should wear it how you like it.

I'm just wondering, why do you have your hair shaved really short then?

It fits his face.

Taylor Swift would look horrible with Rihanna's haircut.

Hokie's face looks better with short hair. (I believe he's also in the military, so he may be subject to grooming standards, too.) Not everyone has the same face shape, Ross.

Because he's in the Army. Hey, Ross, there is an idea for you. Why don't you join a branch of the military in the UK? They will toughen you up.

Sorry, I should've asked this before, but why do you think it would do me good?

To be honest I think USMCHokie would look a lot better if his hair was more longer at the sides. I don't really think the style he has suits him that great.

No way, not my kinda thing. Plus there's a lot of bullying that goes on in the UK army. So instead of it toughening me up it would just make me a quivering wreck.

The whole military thing...I get the sides straight-razored once a week, with occasional trim/texture of the top...I'm so used to it now that having a week's worth of growth (at most 1/8") on the sides feels long and shaggy to me)...

And you're probably right, I might be better off with a little bit longer hair on the sides...unfortunately I can't...

I like the second photo best.

It kinda says "I rock climb, play frisbee golf and hacky sack, but I also hold down a pretty good job at a place about to go public."

I agree with Elswyth, Ross.

So, what have you decided to do?

Something different?

Prove us wrong. ;)

I probably wont ever get it cut as short again. I'm going to let my hair get a bit longer and see how I feel about that.

I'm undecided about a goatee, I feel like it kinda makes my face look dirty, there's some stubble there now, I'm not sure if I'll shave it off today or let it grow.

As for my clothes, I will be buying stuff from now on that is less in your face, and which looks more mature?
