Teknoe
Usually I hear a bunch of quotes being spouted out. On the radio, TV, a movie, a documentary, Twitter, Facebook, etc. Not too often does one strike me to the degree that this quote I heard the other day has. It was simple yet very profound. I never heard it before, and once I did, and got to think about it, it is 100% the truth in life. The quote is, "You can't work to guarantee success, but you can work to DESERVE success." Wow. That resonated with me and my spirit "jumped" when I heard it. It basically means... no matter how hard you work at something, whether a career, dating, whatever, there are various circumstances simply BEYOND your human control. However, you don't let what you can't control get you down. You can always control how hard and smart you work at something. You CAN work hard and smart as to DESERVE success. Does it guarantee success? No. But if you can internalize that quote and GET IT, and live it out, it changes you from the inside out. And usually, those who work/prepare hard and smart, are the same folks who earn the various successes in life that they do. I've decided to adopt that quote as my life mantra. I can work hard to deserve success. I might not get it, but it's about positioning myself to succeed at whatever endeavor I choose to chase. I just had to share that quote with others. It reminds me of another favorite quote of mine: The quality of people's lives and the world has been changed when people 1. Discover their gifts 2. Develop their gifts 3. Distribute their gifts Powerful stuff. It's about shifting from the victim's perspective to the victor's power. And each of us has the victor's power deep within ourselves. It's merely about casting out the enemy's lies and tapping into your inner spirit. Believing that you are special, important and that your life matters in this world, along with the talents you have and how you use those talents. Cheers, LoveShack!
mercy
I love when that happens! I don't think it's an accident either, I believe it was meant for you to hear and apply. Thank you for sharing this. You never know who else was meant to hear it.
quankanne
love that last one, the one you put into boldface, because it rings of truth: Until you figure out what you can give the world that no one else can, you're really not able to make the difference you want to make!
