Samantha16
I'm going to a wedding this weekend, and the dress I have kind of excentuates (sp?) my belly. Is there any dieting tips to lose the bloating in my mid-section in 5 days? And that being besides starving myself! I was also thinking about the tummy trimmer. It's an elastic stomach band that's supposed to flatten out your belly and make you look 10 pounds lighter. Any tips would be appriciated!! Thanks!!
tiki
Drink plenty of water, reduce salt intake.
Matilda
I went on the South Beach Diet a couple months ago. The first 2 weeks of the diet, you eliminate all carbs. I lost about 7 pounds in the those 2 weeks. Of course, much of that was water weight, I realize, but it did get rid of the bloating. Try sticking to eating protein, a little bit of fat, and vegetables, no fruit, for a couple days. No carbs, so no sweets, bread, etc. It's not fun, but it's not horrible either. Author Samantha16
Thanks for the replys. That's helpful. I'm not concerned about losing weight right now, just the bloating in my stomach so these tips are good. Lots of water, no carbs, salt, fruit or sweets. The sweets will be easy, I don't have a sweet tooth. Is milk ok? Can you perhaps run me down the list of the most common things that have carbs? I'm not too aware. What are the common foods I should avoid this week? And what are the things I should consume? One more question, I'm confused, if I want to lose the water to reduse the bloating, shouldn't I stop drinking as much water? Or does it have nothing to do with that? I'm clueless when it comes to nutrition!!
Author Samantha16
Better yet, tell me what I should have for breakfast, lunch, supper and snacks for the next 5 days. Even if it's the same thing everyday. And should I stop eating after 7:00?
Matilda
Water actually makes you urinate more, which flushes out excess water. So yeah, lots of water is good. Eat as much lean protein as you want: beef, poultry, seafood, pork, veal, lamb, meat substitutes, fat-free/low-fat cheese and dairy products, eggs Milk is okay, but stick to low-fat. All vegetables are ok except these: beets, carrots, corn, potatoes (sweet and white) Nuts are okay, but limit to a handful a day. Peanut butter is also okay but limit to 2 tablespoons a day. No bread, cereal, rice, pasta, baked goods, croutons, oatmeal, pastry, baked goods No alcohol, ketchup or cocktail sauce No fruit Eggs for breakfast, salad with protein for lunch, protein (meat of fish) with vegetables for dinner. Also you can have a mid-morning and afternoon snack of protein, like nuts or string cheese, or meat, etc. I never stopped eating after 7pm.
Nubianangel
I know it's a little too late to give you advice as the weekend is already here but I suppose someone else might benefit from this: For three days eat lean protein ONLY. Lean chicken, turkey, fish and even beef. Eggs are a good source as well. No butter, sauces, mayo or oil. Pretty bland and boring I know but the weight melts away quickly. I lost a lot of weight low carbing but I've always had the little baby "pooch/pouch" until someone gave me this advice. I did it for the three days and my tummy shrank immediately. Oh and please remember to drink lots of WATER!! Diet sodas are fine but nothing too sweet including coffee. No salads or veggies also. It's an extreme form of low carbing but it works! Rachell06
From word of mouth I have always gone by the understanding that you are not permitted to eat past 7:00, because you matabiloism slows down, and soon stops after this point. I guess what I was wondering, was, when is the best time throughout you day when you should stop eating?
