lexnmike4enomore
I need and effortless way to lose weight. I don't mind taking those diet pills but i don't want to take a drug to do it. I mean what can be easier than taking a pill. But those things make you nuts and i don't want to go back there. I'm not VERY active, i mean i do your occasional walking but i want to lose weight basically doing nothing. Just eating right. I don't have enough money to join a gym and that just builds muscle and i never thought that worked. Any ideas, and if anyone knows of a diet pill thats not as bad as the rest? Thank you~
meagara
If you want to spend just a little bit of money buy a Windsor Pilates video. (approx. $50 for two videos and a meal plan and success tracker) Pilates will help with your mid-section, and will build long lean muscles. Eating right should be your main focus right now. You can't loose weight and do nothing that is just not possible. Walk around the neighbourhood, then try slowly jogging. Please see a doctor before you start any of this though. HokeyReligions
You are going to have to put in some effort. Eating healthy is good, but exercising is mandatory for good health and weight loss/maintenance. You don't have to join a gym, you can even exercise while watching TV. Stretches and jogging in place is a start. Get a hula-hoop! If you have stairs in your house, use them. When you go out park in the back of the lot and take a longer walk to the door. Park on an upper floor and use the stairs in the parking garage, and in whatever building you are in. Drink lots of ice cold water! This really helps. You don't need to take any pills if you just drink more water. Put some music on and just dance in your living room. You gotta get some exercise.

meagara
Actually research has shown that not everybody is supposed to drink the recommended 8 glasses a day. You should only water, cut out any soda, or juices. What your body can handle. There is such thing as drowning your body. Seen it once on the medical channel. Only drink what you can handle, and don`t drink it in all one sitting.

If you retain water, try drinking it with a little vinegar in it, or even using a diuretic. Get checked out by a doctor first and find out why you retain water. Cut down on your salt intake. I switched to Morton's Lite salt, cut out fried foods and cut down junk food (didn't cut it out completely--just reduced how often I ate it) and increased my water intake to one and a half to two liters a day (stretched out over the entire day) and I started walking more and when sitting and watching TV I would do arm exercises just to keep my metabolism up (3 minute exercies during a commercial break). Those few things (the water was the biggie) and I lost 80 pounds in about 7 months.

That's just a little more than the Big Gulps that people suck down at one sitting. I started drinking several more glasses of water a day and I found I had a lot more energy. Being dehydrated is no good for your body and people are often dehydrated without even realizing it. By the time you feel thirsty, you've already lost too much fluid. Too, your body will retain water when it's deprived of liquid. If you drink a lot, you'll find yourself going to the washroom a lot more and getting rid of the fluid. meagara
Never said you can drown your body on 8 glasses. There have been cases where people have out done the"recommended" 8 glasses by alot and have drowned their organs, resulting in their death. Though people should know that things like this can happen. Not all people need 8 glasses they may only need 5 or 6 a day. Not everyone needs as much. Plus, you also get water from eating fruits such as honeydew, and many others.
Untitled
Substituting meals with cigarettes adn ofcourse drinking more water help, but i find that stopping eating works best for me. If my g/f and i are meeting up (LDR) i can just dont eat a day or two beforehand and then i can have a falt stomach that i dont have to hide if were undressed.

I usually know all those little factoids. Interesting. Originally posted by Untitled Substituting meals with cigarettes... Oh that's a good idea - NOT! Try drinking water before a meal. I find if I drink a lot of fluid before I eat, I can't eat much.
lnichols
My husband lost about 50 pounds on Adkins and he swears by it. I think it is one of those things you should see the doc about before you try it. And it is something you will have to stick with. As the hub says, "It's not a diet, it's a lifestyle." He does cheat a little, though. And I don't cook anything special for him. I just make salad and veggies, stuff I would eat anyway. Lots of meat! He says it was easy because he was never hungry. I love my carbs, though!
lexnmike4enomore
Oh i know Atkins works...but you need all the will power in the world to do that. I cant go from eating bagels in the morning cheese steaks for lunch and McDonald's for dinner and then quit that cold turkey. thats my problem......will power. Thats why i want and EFFORTLESS way
Matilda
Well just try changing one thing at a time. Decide at one meal you are going to eat healthier. At some point you will begin to lose your taste for junk food.
