OP, you'll need to call BA customer service and deal with a human to effect any changes. If you hear a 'no', thank that person politely and terminate the call and call back.

My GDS access shows fare rules which contradict the information you've apparently been receiving so you may have to escalate to a supervisor and/or the 'rate desk' to get satisfaction. From my read, you have a high-fare economy or discounted premium economy ticket, so this should not be an issue.

Again, if you send me the fare details, including the fare basis code (an example would be E2UKJB, which is the most similarly priced current ticket from LON-SFO), I can give you the precise change/cancel verbiage directly from the system BA publishes to, the GDS. It's what their rate desk publishes so they have to adhere to it or they face sanctions from the IATA.

Last chance offer from someone who knows the system. Good luck.

just an update. so after the agent went back and forth to the HQ etc.... 9 times out of 10 BA dont do rerouting or anything but given the way the seats were, the class and so on and so forth, managed to change the location and of course pay the difference and the change fee.

I was going to head to Seattle anyway later on in the year. So thats done. Nonetheless, still though, the original problem of dating and being let down constantly and taken for a ride in this scenario is pretty tough and not fair.

anyway, all done so thanks for the help and assistance carhill.
