Skin picking, nail biting: Guys how quick do you notice? How big of a turn off is it?

I know some girls who have a skin picking problem, and others who have a nail biting problem. I, myself, bite my nails every now and then, and even though it's not to the extreme, I become very conscious and I feel that immediately my hands are disfigured and ugly.

I know that men prefer nice skin and feminine hands, but I wonder how obvious it is to a guy if a woman bites her nails or picks at her skin?

Do you notice these things immediately? If so, do you get a certain impression about the woman? (Ex: she has too many bad habits/she can't control herself/she doesn't take good care of herself)

NOTE: All of this assuming she is otherwise very nice, and you like her.

It's saturday night girl! let's go out, don't make threads.;)

To answer your question, I don't think guys care unless they do it in an extreme manner.

Nail-biting is not a turn-off to me, but more like an unnecessary bad habit. It's actually bad for your teeth. I've never been a nail biter really. I do sometimes pick my skin, but only if it's already been cut or split somehow, I usually just rip it off.

Hands can be taken care of in spite of these things. I usually use almond or avocado oil on them.

To the majority of guys it won't matter at all. If the skin picking is to the point you've got scabs from it, then ya that would be a turn off. I don't think more than 1 out of 20 guys would even notice the nails unless they are sharp are you're poking him with them.

Nail biting, fidgetting, etc usually comes across as someone being nervous.

If this is about a paticular guy, don't worry about it. If he really likes you it won't matter.

I don't know about other guys out there but I really like nice hands.

For some reason I like very feminine hands which don't look like the tips have been chewed on by a puppy all day. They don't have to be super manicured or anything like that, but I like short nails and just generally nice fingers.

I used to be a nail biter myself in the past, but I stopped doing it as I start noticing that it made the fingers look a little gross to me. Especially when they look all moist because you've been drooling all over them and they get all white and pasty...bleh!

Skin picking isn't a big deal to me at least, unless you're like obsessively picking at yourself in public and all the time.

I wouldn't say either is a deal breaker, It's not on the top of my list but I always notice the hands myself, for some damn reason...maybe because I like to kiss a woman's hands in an affectionate way not fetishy way and hold them often, plus they're the things that are going to be touching me...kinda makes sense no? :S

It's about as much of a deal-breaker as scratching balls, farting, belching and picking your nose in traffic is to a woman.

I would guess.

I don't think so. The things you mentioned are manners, not physical ailments.

I pick at my skin on my fingers and have done it for years. I've gone through periods where I stop (takes so much willpower!) but then start again...

Recently I've started painting my fingernails so I am given an incentive to NOT pick at my skin. When you have bright blue fingernails people tend to notice.

It has been embarrassing at times. All my closest friends and family know I do it and even though I think it does gross them out at times, they still accept and love me.

And so far, no one has really commented on it on dates...unless I start bleeding or something...which has happened...and was a bit awkward, but I usually lie and say I cut myself, or pretend I didn't know how it happened.

What else is a girl suppose to do. :o

I also think this is one physical attribute I'm very hypocritical about. I like men with nice hands. @.@

I probably wouldn't notice it as long as it wasn't being done in front of me.

Of course no one will comment. If you go on a date with a guy that you notice has really gross hands (whatever that is to you) then you aren't going to point it out lol

That's why i'm asking on here how important it is to a man, and how quickly they notice. I guess it's very subjective, some guys don't mind and other prefer feminine and clean hands.
