Consolidated Discussion - Paying for Dates

Then that's not a date. I would call that a hang-out.

Keep trying. You won't change me.

Oh I know I won't. Im just calling your father out for being a sexist and you for being an escort.

Do you let men know in advance that you expect to be compensated for your companionship? It'd be a bit unethical not to.

That's really just a really thinly veiled prostitute rhetoric women use. Men need to man up and be the ones asking women out, then the people who do the asking need to pay.

I always laughed at this concept. Only a woman could come with such circular 'logic'.

Tee hee but im totally a strong and independent woman, all I need is his wallet.

How about if I were to switch turns on the second date or so and pay? But... once again you assumed too fast thinking I'm only after his wallet.

And you should let women in advance know about your lack of dating etiquette and no-class personality.

Or you could just stop using men as mealtickets and pay your own bills, radical concept in 2012, I know.

I always establish a fixed rate with all of my escorts.

Personally, I think it's you who has no class. Only a low-class person would feel entitled to another person's money. Classy people simply don't act that way.

So what if it's 2012???

Paying for a date was appropriate in a time when women didn't make any money because they were glorified baby incubators.

In 2012 women have all the rights men have as they so enjoy telling us all day every day and they have jobs, make their own money.

Why should men spend theirs so you can keep yours?

I'll treat a woman like a lady once she cleans my socks, has dinner on the table within 20 minutes of me coming home from work and when she stays home to take care of our children.

Once again, I can careless about jewelry or expensive place. I'm not asking for that. That's would be the real definition of a woman going for the wallet.

One tiny mention of your lack of dating manners and immediately we have to hear the word gold-digger or I'm already in the ''after his money'' category. So basically if you don't even try any effort I'm suppose to be happy and never say anything??

But you guys are going to extremes. What's next? Just walking around and sitting in the grass? Taking a girl in a place invested with mosquitos but still expecting her to stick around? Taking her to a crappy fast food restaurant and still complain about a $1 she didn't pay?

If it's a matter of principle for you, why can't it also be a matter of principle for men? Maybe we don't like the idea of being treated as wallets, regardless of how much the date costs. Ever think of that? Or are you so self-centered that you can only see things from your perspective?

Well maybe I don't like the idea of getting treated like one of his buddies or ''just another man''. Only guy I would give permission to treat me like a buddy would be my childhood male friend.

Maybe he doesn't like the feeling of having to pay for the priviledge of your presence.

Now you're just grasping at straws. Your suggestion that a woman can only be treated as either a prostitute or a buddy is, quite frankly, insulting to normal women.

Of course you don't, you think a working girl should be compensated for her time.

That's how it apparently is. There seems to be no middle ground.

Dating apparently is work for you, why else would you demand compensation for your time?

Only in your warped vision.

Dating isn't mandatory while work is (there are supervisors, managers, etc). You can get fired from your job for being late frequently or doing nothing and it takes a while to find another position. Dating is an invitation.

That's the same I think with you guys into the ''I asked her out but she still has to pay'' mentality. I see it as a warped vision as well too.

We've been over this. The whole he invited me so he has to pay is such a thinly veiled excuse for prostitution a 5 year old could see through it.

No it's common sense. If it was me invitating the man, then it would be me paying. Simple as that....
