Most of the ppl referenced in this thread got married in the age of wave 1-2 of feminism when society was striving for equality between the genders ... not in the age of entitlement. Back to topic now. That seems like a catch-22. Of course they married more than 25 years ago....because they are being celebrated for staying married more than 25 years! Still, they stand out, because so many others who married at the same time have long since divorced. We won't know for a couple decades which modern marriages will stand the test of time. Ninja'sHusband Posted June 11, 2012 Share Posted June 11, 2012 Thanks Tiger Sorry to necro post...but I wanted to bring up a couple that just amazes me... Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne. These two have been married for 30 years. I've been reading both their autobiographies and the fact that they still talk about each other so lovingly and have so much thanks for each other...well it blows my mind. Especially from Sharon's side. It's amazing the dedication that woman has had, some people might say she's stupid actually... Ozzy's been physically abusive(actually tried to hill her 2x) and unfaithful. Sharon has also been physically abusive and destroyed a lot of valuable stuff including gold records. They both claim they saved each other. Sharon says if it weren't for Ozzy she'd be in jail, having gotten into bad business with her father. Ozzy obviously thanks Sharon for saving his career(she's been his manager since mid-late Sabbath career) and getting him cleaned up(took over a decade). Another interesting note is they defy the statistic saying most marriages fail when born out of an affair. Ozzy was married with two kids when he first got involved with Sharon. Not that people should take that to mean affairs are ok =\ ... I just think their story is inspiring. If you feel like your marriage is in a bad place, read "I Am Ozzy" or "Sharon Osbourne Extreme: My Autobiography". It's really interesting to compare\contrast the two books and your own life.
