hoperussell
Okay so i suffer from Pure O with is a form of OCD which focuses on obsessive thoughts. Well recently i was on a night out with a friend who actually has the same condition and when we got back to hers, i was staying over, we were just in bed talking and its happened before where i get intrusive thoughts like 'oh i really want to kiss her' or 'i wish she'd kiss me'. I then wake up in the morning and i torment myself over cause its like i was willing to cheat on my boyfriend. I really don't understand what these thoughts mean. When i wake up i'm like thank god nothing happened because when sober i would never want it to. When i did keep getting these intrusive thoughts i'd like start to argue you with myself and say 'no you don't want that' but then i'd think 'yeah you do'. I just don't know if this is normal cause i feel so guilty.
january2011
I suggest speaking to a therapist about this. They can help to guide you in developing cognitive strategies to manage these thoughts so that they don't consume you. Unfortunately, we're not really equipped to give professional advice here. Radu
Is it always the same girl ? You might have a crush. PS: Did you really have to make 2 threads ?
PegNosePete
I really don't understand what these thoughts mean. They mean you have a chemical imbalance in your brain. Nothing more. When i did keep getting these intrusive thoughts i'd like start to argue you with myself and say 'no you don't want that' but then i'd think 'yeah you do'. I just don't know if this is normal cause i feel so guilty. It is not normal for most people, but it is very normal for a pure obsessional OCD sufferer. You need to get treatment for your condition, and sooner rather than later. If you don't then it could quite easily destroy your relationship and other aspects of your life as well. If left untreated, this kind of disease gets worse and worse. Are you on any drugs, or are you getting cognitive behavioural therapy?
rach24680
How long have u been with ur bf? Maybe ur bi curious? Maybe deep down u want some freedom from ur bf? PegNosePete
rach, maybe you missed the part where the OP is pure obsessional OCD? That kind of advice is not helpful to someone with that condition. It's a serious debilitating mental health problem and needs professional treatment.
