pink_sugar
So my brother in law and sister in law are flying out to visit this side of the family this year. (Half sibling of my H). We're probably not going to take too much time off to visit them, maybe an additional day other than the weekend. Last time, I took 5 days off work and they hardly wanted to visit us. They made all kinds of excuses and complained that we were inviting ourselves to places with them. My husband and his half sibling were raised separately in different parts of the country, so they aren't that close. A year after we first met his new wife when they got married, we got married and they preferred to spend time with other relatives rather than participating in our wedding events as being part of our wedding party. (Stupid idea because we barely knew her) The wife is pretty HM and they never even wanted to spend some nights at our place(we had an extra bedroom), because "they were more comfortable at the grandparents". They only wanted to hang with the grandparents the entire time, which was rather lame as we were all the same age. We even offered to cook for them one night at our place and they still refused to come over. After their last visit 2 years ago, we decided we weren't going to get all kinds of time off work to visit people who don't want to visit. If they ask, we'll simply say we couldn't get much time off of work. Edited May 23, 2012 by pink_sugar
