Ex's games

hi all.

Well I came here looking for advice on how to deal with my ex and his games. We've been apart for months now, and yes I still love him, which I know is my own stupidity but is something I can't help.

Well I'll get right to the issue at hand, we still talk everyday, we have since we broke up, and we tell each other our problems. I've dated since we split but he hasn't. But what he does is talks to me like he misses me and that he wants to be with me, so we make plans to go out and talk or what ever, and he lets me down , by breaking plans with me 10 minutes before were to meet, and lets me down, which in turn re breaks my heart. I've tried many times to distance myself from him but it never seems to work. I'm just not sure if I can go on with feeling this way much longer, and I'm not sure how to fix it.

The only way you'll ever get over him is to stop talking to him and give yourself plenty of time to grieve your loss. Eventually, you won't think of him all the time. Each day that passes without contact will make you stronger and stronger.

Practice not allowing people to use you. Set your expectations of people a little higher. You deserve better.

Thanks, I've tried the not talking to him, it's not as simple as not just answering my phone when he calls, and I never call him, but thanks again for the advice.

You should tell him what you want, without hinting ..we dont get hints. If you dont get what you want then I'm sorry time to move on.

he's probably playing the whole : we should at least be able to be friends with each other! - we should at least be able to be human with each other - game

Its not fair to you, because (as previously noted) you have not had time or space to heal from the breakup, yet he keeps talking to you every day.

Dont let him mess with your head like this! My ex tried the same thing, and it was only to get to me, and force me to have to think about him every day!

Beleive me, this isnt about him wanting to be friends with you, or caring about you at all, its a control thing - so you should tell him to stop calling you, and you have to be strong enough not to pick up when he does call, because he will - just to test you.
