CurlyIam
Allright, people, this is serious! on August the 4th my parents wil celebrate 25 years of marriage. I am clueless, what am I supposed to get them? Someting practical, something significant, something .... what???? I have no idea, I feel lost. I mean for my mom, it's super easy. For my dad it's usually obvious, but for them both?
sportsloving
How about a family portrait? Some art? A weekend at something they like: casino, bed and breakfast? The 25 year plate (lol)? Sorry I have no idea what the "gift" is for the 25 years but I do know it is incredible that they have stayed married for so long! Best of luck finding the gift
Author CurlyIam
Thank you. I think they're gonna have an intimate party, so I'm thinking about keeping it simple. I'vespotted some antique shops aroud the XIV-th, so I'll check them out in the week end. I'm telling you, it's red alert all the way, there'll be family, their best freinds and their children. I am a bit stressed out, you know.
Fayebelle
Are you an only child? If not check w/your sibs before buying any antiques b/c you could get together and do a set or a theme from a particular era. If you are- pick what you think they would like best. Personally I always think form w/ function is much more beautiful than just a knick knack. Antique mirrors are BEAUTIFUL if you want something decorative.
Author CurlyIam
I've got a younger sister, she studies Medicine, so I doubt she has lots of savings... Plus we have different tastes and with the distance and all, I'll have to work a lot to convince her of anything, especially antique stores.
brashgal
How about framing a wedding portrait from their first wedding and then taking a current portrait of them and frame the two side by side? It's a nice thing for people to see at the celebration ...
