luvinthesun
What seems to be the norm these days for progressing onto a "next step I mean... Does it seem one year? Two years? and people are living together ? Engaged? Married? Thanks
Ninja'sHusband
It took us 4 years(before marriage) because we had a requirement of graduating from college first. That being said...we were practically living together for much of that time even though we had separate places...
MooBear
I don't really think there is a norm anymore. People seem to be waiting a bit longer to marry as well. I've been with my boyfriend for 5 years total and we started living together 6 months ago. Neither of us have really thought about marriage right now - I would be happy within a few years to be engaged. My best friend, on the other hand, has just become engaged to a guy she has been dating for 5 weeks, and they are getting married at the end of the year!
make me believe
Nowadays it seems like everybody moves in with every boyfriend or girlfriend they have after about 6 months. Then date for a couple of years, most likely break up because the commitment wasn't actually there while you were busy playing house, and then start it all over again with the next person. Personally I think you should at least be engaged & planning a wedding before moving in together. My husband and I dated for a year, got engaged & moved in together, and got married about 7 months after that.
