DBella
Tell him I don't approve and forget about it? Good relationship advice. Shut up and deal with it sounds more like what you're trying to say. Well, you wanted advice and/or opinions, so there you go...or did you want everybody to agree with your point of view? Like I said earlier, go ahead and educate yourself in this subject so at least when you tell him you are gonna leave him, you have enough info and reasons why. Take the time to ask him and learn about the type of steroids he's using or about to start using, analyze and understand how his decision is going to affect you in a negative way, do research and learn from athletes and doctors about the steroid your partner is using, then make a final decision but after being informed. Hawaii50
Did you read my whole post? I did, and I agree with what you posted. My brother does a cycle ever year or so, but that's it. I've also had friends die from abuse. They have the mentality and I'll quote 'em "Bury be young, bury me strong." Fact of the matter and OP is that this seemingly nice chick is strongly requesting her already in-shape bf and future partner not to start using steroids. He is ignoring her and doing what he wants. I'd ditch the dick. screw him, he obviously has a problem with his ego as I would compare this to fake tits on a woman. What was that "Fight Club" quote about working out being like masturbation?! I'm sorry he made such a stupid decision.
AlexDP
Do you drink Alex? Smoke? Eat poorly? Overweight? Drink soda? Pot? Steroids minimalizes the training necessary? Really? What sports do you play and what steroids have you done that led you to this scientific conculsion? I play soccer. The benefits of steroids are limited in soccer, it's not really a drug we're faced with much. The sport I was referring to was mostly bodybuilding. Most other sports involve tactical awareness or skill, so just steroids don't make you a great athlete in most sports. They can however be of great help. Also fucpcg, you don't have to be greatly intelligent to realise that injecting stuff in your body is probably not the healthiest way to go. Steroids do have side effects. And yes, some of the side effects are grossly overrated (roid rage being a complete fantasy), but some are very real.

Mike_d
Is there any chance that there may be some underlying issue here? It instantly struck me that this guy, after being together so long, is now suddenly all into his physical appearance. What is his sudden urge to juice up? Who is he trying to impress? You must be thinking wtf?!? maybe the OP??
soccerrprp
OP, there are users who think they know better than everyone else the benefits and dangers of anabolic steroids. The truth is that they do have potentially dangerous side-effects. That is simple fact! It is a drug and prescribed, so there's a reason why they are prescribed. Anyone with basic biology sense will realize the potential dangers of pumping yourself with unneeded steroids. You will get some effect, some good and some, potentially risky. Your boyfriend chose a "drug" over your concerns. Now, you make the decision and do some real research instead of listening to people on LS for medical advice. Call a physician, etc. and get better educated.
fucpcg
Yes the users know more than everybody else, duh! The comedy is, those who haven't ever used, ever researched or studied, and feel THEY KNOW about the dangers and side effects. Not only have I used, I have read every book written on anabolics, cover to cover. No you do not know more about the side effects than me, nor does anyone who hasn't done the research I have. Injections are dangerous on their own if you do not know how to perform them. The only decent way to do steroids is to inject them. Nevermind the side effects of steroids, the fact is there is always an inherent danger to them, because they have to be injected.
fucpcg
Uh huh. It is almost 3 decades since my first use of AAS. I am 42 and in better shape then probably 95% of the men in here, if not 99%. I play 6 sports leagues in the summers outside of lifting. I still sport a 6 pack in the summers. I own my own business, make a great living, and spend quite a bit of time volunteering as a coach among other things. Steroids has destroyed my life. The rest of you can continute on about all your dangers of steroids, I'm done with this thread. I have no interest in discussing Calculus with a bunch of people who think they know Calculus, yet have never even taken a Math class. That's what this is like. Have fun with your conjecture. It certainly has destroyed your ability to discuss things in a reasonable manner.
HollyLollz
Wow, I hope that you really thought about your actions before breaking up with him. My boyfriend soon to be Fiance' has taken steroids since he was 17 he is now 25 and looks amazing! The thing is that you fall in love with somebody usually you take all of the other crap that comes with. We dated for a year before he told me he was injecting steroids, that was the most hardest thing he did. But it didn't bother me too much because I fell in love with HIM. And as much as it hurts me to think about him on gear I know body building is his passion.
