avon20
Ladies if you are dating a man who keeps saying "We should break up" every time you get into an argument then do you eventually give him what he asks for and dump him?
Titanwolf
Let him go. If it's you that's putting in all the effort to keep you two together, he has power over you, knowing that you need him. IMHO, it sounds like he's looking for a way out, let him have it. No sense in wasting your life away, with someone that doesn't want to be with you.
burningashes
I would leave him. Threatening to break up every time there's a problem is not how people work things out. That's called emotional blackmail.
SarahRose
I really hope he is around 15 years old. yes break up with him. he is showing you he has zero problem solving skills. imagine someone doing that at work. i am going to quit because i don't want to staple all those tps reports
Quest4_TheLost
LOLZ.. Agreed this is a lost cause.. I had a guy threaten me. We got in an argument on the phone and he says you want to be my next ex? I told him to go **** himself and hung up... He kept calling until we made up. But a few weeks later it lead into major insecurity and I ended up breaking up with him anyway. In a real relationship you need to feel secure and there is no security with a guy like that..

phineas
Personally I see two problems. 1. He believes you can't do without him. 2. You even questioning this means he's probably right. Three problems. 3. You all argue too much if you can say this is something that happens regularly.
veggirl
Phineas is spot on. He knows you'll never take him up on the idea of breaking up. No respect. If I was you I'd have made it clear the first time that happened that unless he really wants to break up he needs to not threaten it. If he did it again after that I would walk. You should dump him.
Joaquin
It's the behaviour of a guy that knows you aren't for him yet can't bring himself to finally let u go. It's called being emotionally immature. I'd say he would like to break up but for his own reasons he is scared to see it through. Edited July 2, 2012 by Joaquin
serial muse
I would hope that she would do it; living with that kind of emotional blackmail, as another poster said, is awful. But, sadly, I don't think that's how people tend to think. Unless she really wants to break up with you she probably won't take the hint. It's a really passive-aggressive way to go about things, and rather cruel in the long run.
LittlePrince
Do I get the I SURVIVED... souvenir tee before or after the roller coaster because I have been on this ride before?
serial muse
Do I get the I SURVIVED... souvenir tee before or after the roller coaster because I have been on this ride before? FYI, the OP isn't the woman in this scenario.
