taco_dude
A couple of my friends wanted to get into shape for the summer to attract the ladies (but i think some of us worked A LOT harder than others). They wanna know who did the 'best' because apparently we made a bet and the winner can choose who has to shave their head. So i need your help so I don't look like I'm trying to tilt it in anyone's favor...Of the following pictures which # (one through five) is the best eye candy/most appealing based on body alone (if you're female) or which body are those of you who have fitness goal aspirations trying to achieve (if you're male)? If you can just briefly explain why too and be honest, i'm just gonna count votes for each. I know everyone has different tastes and goals that's why. BBContest Thanks in advance
Emilia
#4, reminds me of my Para ex's physique except his arms are stronger good balance in terms of muscle structure though his shoulders could be wider, low body fat % but not too ripped looking (#5 is too ripped for my taste, prefer a more natural look), not skinny like #
sea shells
#4, most built, not too ripped and not too skinny. Tight in an appealing way.
brahmabull117
you didn't post a picture that was the perfect medium of all those builds http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg808/scaled.php?server=808&filename=thailand20080007.jpg&res=landing
somedude81
As a guy, I'd like to be #5. It looks 'natural fit' It's also the closest my current body, but I need to lose more fat and gain more muscle.

What's your diet like, out of interest? That could be the key to losing fat and gaining muscle. ------------------------------- I would prefer a less bulky version of number 1. Number 4 is also pretty good, but a little less defined than I would like.

I live with nobody, am responsible for feeding myself, and don't know how to cook, nor do I like cooking for one. Though I only have fast food twice a week or less. Most of what I eat is sandwiches for lunch, frozen foods for dinner or I might make a pasta box/ spaghetti. Right now I'm trying to decide what I want for lunch. I know I'm not eating that well and that I need to start cooking.

I eat a lot, but I also have lots of fruit and veg, which is why I'm not fat as I could be for someone who was mostly sedentary and eats a lot. Definitely learn how to cook. I don't count calories, nor do I cut down on my food, but I am a scientist when it comes to food nowadays. I want to know what every vitamin does or mineral or whatever component will help with my health/fitness. As such, I don't actually eat meat, but I often eat fish and soy protein (although not too much soy). But I cook a LOT more than I used to.
pteromom
1 - WAY too muscular for me. 2 - too thin for me 3 - not a fan of the extra muscle around the neck area, and seems like the chest is in really good shape, but somehow the 6-pack is hiding. 4 - out of balance somehow. Arms seem small for how muscular the abdomen/chest are 5 - my favorite. Looks natural and still has a little bit of meat, which I like. That said, all these guys obviously have really good bodies, and I am only picking at them because I was asked to. I would be staring and drooling at any of them. LOL.

Author taco_dude
How often do you exercise and do you folks vary your form of exercise (i.e. jogging, weight lifting, hicking, cardio classes, etc)? I don't think many people are going for the look in #1 (which isn't actually one of my friends but just added to show different builds), but then again maybe it does have its appeal to some. I know quite a few friends of mine who would go for the #5 look because it looks 'natural' but also 'healthy.' But everyone has different goals to begin with. Also I read somewhere that it's better to do 15 minutes of explosive work rather than waste an hour or so in the gym taking breaks here and there
Celtica
Hmm, I'd say either #1 or #4. #4 seems like they aren't trying too hard but have always been in shape. #1 is pretty to look at (IMO). But I think the best thing is to find something you can maintain easily. Otherwise it's like crash dieting. And I will be honest - to me, a guy who is obsessed about his appearance is, what I'd imagine to be, just as annoying as a girl who refuses to eat a hamburger and fries to guys. # 3 looks like a teddy bear (in a good way). # 5 to me looks like the body of a 14 year old (potential to grow but no thanks). and # 2 looks like I could squish him or maybe reminds me of those boys in middle school who put curvy and fat girls in the same category (me having been one of them) because they were insecure about being skinny.

brahmabull117
mmm...killer body. But again, I would hate to date a guy who is as finicky eater as my friends... I totally agree with you, I hate that too It's kind of a tricky thing. I have friends who look fantastic who have a very laid back lifestyle and eat whatever we want (myself included) but then others can have a high maintenance lifestyle - I'd say it's probably close to a 50/50 split You just gotta talk to the guy to find out. IMO there's absolutely no point in being obsessive about this stuff unless you're an actual competitive bodybuilder. You can look great and eat normal/drink whenever you want as long as you manage your overall daily calories

brahmabull117
This is my dream physique - http://superstrong.ch/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/lazar-angelov-bodybuilding-fitness-3.jpg I know it looks freaky huge and muscular in pictures but those muscles feel and look much much more natural, smooth and pleasant in real life. Plus it's just awesome being that big and strong in real life, I love that feeling of accomplishment after you're just done gaining 10 lbs of muscle over a 6 month period Thankfully for me, I do this bodybuilding stuff while also having a very low maintenance lifestyle. Best of both worlds Edited July 9, 2012 by brahmabull117

My goodness, you actually know his name. Oh, men and bodybuilding... I just picked that photo out of a hat while trying to visually explain my admiration of men who stay in shape for career purposes, as in military men, firefighters, etc...
