The guy might have payed for the first date but it was close to even right after that. Who cares about a first date anyways? That's more significant to you than the 3 years of dating after that when it was pretty much equal? Believe it or not, but I pay for myself more often than not on dates, supported myself when I was married and contributed to shared responsibilities. You are assuming I expect to be treated well while giving nothing back. You would be wrong, I worked full time and contributed just as much household wise when I was married as well as when it came to gifts. I just made a point that there are men out there that have no problem "spoiling" their significant other. Who is to say what works for one relationship is wrong? Then take an English 101 course because you do an absolutely horrible job of expressing your opinions. You know. Heck, some men will want her even if she displays NO sign of intelligence or wamth, simple based on her looks. 2) if you get to know a girl who is not the top 10% in looks, and and fall in love with her, or are just really into her. THEN you will try to win them over. So, it is either going crazy over her looks, or going crazy over her because your into her, that makes a guy put a girl on a pedestall. Why on earth would a man regard a girl so highly, unless she was a super model, or a girl he was really into? Unless the guy is desperate and has super low standards. Young men, myself included, get a picture in their head that if they give their best to a woman in terms of chivalry, courtesy, humor, kindness, and talent, that woman will melt in their arms and swoon. Not usually the way it works. Women need to be physically or emotionally attracted to you and none of the above really creates that. However, it is useful to keep that woman once she IS attracted to you. Once you get a woman attracted to you ... you won't have to win her. No, wrong. The reason for "so many bitter young (and older) men around" is because media, movies, and modern music creates an image of every man being owed or entitled to a "hot woman". Men will gladly "woo and win" () a hot woman and trip over their own feet to cater to them, so that itself is not what makes them angry. In fact, for 99.99 % of men the hot women are the only ones that are "worth being won over" anyway, so men only see a certain narrow percentage of women worth lifting a finger for. But the reason that there so many bitter young and older men around is because the majority of men can't have the "10s".
