I'm glad the link didn't work...I was cringing even before I clicked on it...

First, some questions. How old are you. What level of school are we talking about? And what kind of area is it in (e.g., downtown city, suburban, rural college town, etc.)?

And what do you normally wear now to class?

men's formal fashion has not changed appreciably in centuries.

that said, i avoid such 'trendy' things as that jacket. some might in fact think you're trendy with it on, others might shake their head at you and think much worse of you for wearing it.

simple in men's clothing is better than not.

and a 100 dollar suit isn't going to last you very long or look very good either, while i'm at it.

that said you don't have to spend a lot to look nice. shop the common stores until you find a house brand that tends to fit you well. go from there to an alteration shop and have the fit fine tuned a bit.

i mean...solid colors, pants darker than shirts no clashing patterns. even shopping by only those few principles will have you looking better than most, that's really all there is to it.

18. I live in europe, downtown city. 120.000 people (low).

Same level as going to college in the us i think.

Well, fashion in the US is different than Europe, so I can't comment. But I don't like anything that's in the link.

But remember:

1) You have to look good in it. Just because it looks good on display, doesn't mean it looks good on you.

2) You have to look comfortable in it. Make it you.

3) When you over dress, don't over dress too much, because then it looks like you're trying too hard.

I would recommend nice jeans and nice button down long sleeve shirt. It's nice, and even when "over dressed", it's not that over dressed. It works for most circumstances. In the US anyhow. I don't know what it's like in Europe.

For a while I liked English Laundry shirts. I don't know where you are in Europe, but that's a British company, so I assume designs are fashionable in Europe. I liked it when they had a line of shirts with embroidered designs. I'm not afraid to wear floral designs. But I haven't seen anything I like from them for awhile, so I haven't checked.

My first thought was that the outfit you're describing is very similar to the outfits worn by Chris Colfer on Glee.

Even in the places in Europe where the guys are stylishly fashionable (Paris, Milan), they tend not to dress this way if they're interested in girls rather than guys. I also think that wearing a jacket to school is OTT for an average day.

I'll leave the specific advice about what to wear to the guys. But from a female point-of-view, this is an example of "what not to wear" if you want to increase your general attractiveness to mainstream European girls.

Yikes....Europe...sorry, I'm not touching this one... :o

You made me think of this guy from your description...

Handsome

I wouldn't overdress, that would just make it look like you were trying too hard...you can be a little eccentric in what you're wearing like some interesting sunglasses or hat, but I wouldn't go into prep mode trying to impress the ladies.

Plus you really need to try this stuff on before you buy it, It's all about fit and how it looks on your body.

So I'd say you're better off going somewhere and trying on clothes and finding something that looks good on you and you're comfortable in with maybe a little more style than you're used to.

But I'm definitely no style guru so take that for what it is! ;)

Bolded above are two universal principles of dress. You're young, so you're going to be developing your style for a number of years to come. My first recommendation to you (based solely on personal opinion) is to avoid things that are so unique, eccentric, or unusual that people can distinctly remember you wearing that before. More to follow...
