I wanna lose weight by using dumbbells and working out for example in my arms and etc. Should I work out slowly or fast?

I heard if I work out slowly I will build muscle and if I do them fast I lose fat?

Is that correct?

What do you mean fast or slow?

Do you mean reps vs sets?

No i mean the speed. For example I do 8 push ups in 10 seconds (slow)or 10 push ups in 5 seconds (fast),(just an imaginary example)

I heard that the slower you work out more muscles u build and when u do them fast you lose weight in that area.

I think you are mixing up several concepts. Fast work usually means intensity and intensity does indeed tend to imply fat burning. However your dumbbells are probably not heavy enough for intensity, they usually aren't.

I assume what you heard about slow workouts is lifting heavy to build strength while faster work usually means building power (turning existing strength into power). Slower lifting tends to build slow twitch muslces while faster power work tends to build fast twitch muscles.

You need to check out nutrition and fuel but the body uses different fuel for more intense, shorter anaerobic exercise vs longer term, less intense aerobic exercise. It is easier to burn fat with anaerobic exercise.

However pushing those dumbbells fast or slow in themselves will not make any difference to your fitness nor your weight whatsoever.
