mesmerized
"How did you get to this conclusion? See my post above where I said I was born and raised here" i'd advise anybody the same, native or not - if you don't like the heat of the stove get out of the kitchen, look, you want to know about getting dates, so it could just be that your antipathy shows  So there is nothing that you don't like about where you live/your culture? Girlboots
Lots of ignorant people in this thread. People, turn off fox news and go take a walk outside your neighborhood and talk to those people you're so afraid of because you think they'll bomb your house. Islam is a beautiful religion and does not disrespect women. In fact, before Islam, society treated women like dirt and they had no rights. Let's not get started on how sexist romans were and how they used to have sex with little boys. This topic has been derailed and I don't even remember what the OP was asking?? Afghans are very attractive people, so you should not have any trouble finding someone. There are a lot of open minded people, and it might be difficult to find them, but I'm sure you won't have trouble.
mickleb
I appreciate the support! But may I ass that fundamental islam and fundamental Christianity are very very similar. So much so that I would say the Quran is a later version of it. Feel free to 'ass' that! The Old Testament is just about as wild as it gets, IMO, yet there are a surprising number of people on these forums who believe every word of it. Thankfully, extremist approaches are not shared by the majority of followers of any religion (hence the name) but patriots from other cultures with weak arguments like to refer to them. That goes for the East and the West.
MarlyStar
No Afghanis on those planes:mad: My point is it doesn't matter. Most people know that; most Americans don't care.
Mr.Lahey
You're a Muslim, so you want a Muslim girl right? If so, then no problem. If not, why exactly do you want a non-Muslim girl? Most people in the west are laid back when it comes to religion. If you seriously believe that the Koran is the literal word of God, are adamant on bringing your kids up as practicing Muslims and actually support Shariah Law, then your chances aren't too good. Emilia
This is where our tax dollars are going. And they are shooting our men too. That's what upsets me
Emilia
That's correct Ross. Muslim culture is hugely respectful towards women. And you pick me as the rude one in this thread? Interesting... Muslim culture is hugely patronising towards women. There is a difference!
Emilia
In the sense that the stereotype is that women like foreign guys. But iv found this is limited to Italians and other Europeans. Would men from a less "classy" country count as well? If you met an Afghan man would his ethnicity and culture draw interest from you? As you are a second generation Afghan - ie born and bred in the US - possibly. First generation, no. Afghan people will always have a much more traditional view on gender roles than I have for example, even if they come from the more liberal Kabul. I work with 2 second generation Pakistani guys, one is very westernised and his wife is Italian, the other is going back to his roots (even with the head wobble thing) and married a Pakistani virgin when he was a virgin himself. The former could work, the latter definitely not.
