Aries77
I've been with my boyfriend for 4 years. When we started dating, he was in the middle of getting out of a 5 year relationship with his ex. She blamed me for him dumping her. He wanted her to change, and she said she would, but she didn't, and this went on for about a year into their relationship when he finally decided to end it. So from the start of our relationship, his ex and me were enemies. She tried to break us up, told me he was cheating on me (totally fake), etc. And, of course, I in turn, couldn't stand her as well. We couldn't even be in the same room together without someone starting some kind of drama, and we eventually began to "compete" with each other - how we dressed, how we acted, etc. She tried talking to me and we eventually became "tolerable" of each other, but recently, my boyfriend and I almost broke up for good and I kind of feel how she felt - loosing a long-term boyfriend...I realized that I kind of was "the other person" that took him away from her, but in reality, I didn't. I guess I feel I was "in her shoes" so to speak. Should I email her about finally "making peace" with each other, or should I "let sleeping dogs lie"??
exit82
if it's been 4 years- he's most likely a distant memory- I'd let it go.
